So being the normal one of my friends, I was a freak from the start. I had gauged ears since 7th grade and I intended on going bigger. I was researching on BME for a new piercing. (I had 9 at the time, four lobes on each and an industrial that went into that fourth hole)I saw a nostril piercing and I saw a conch piercing. I wanted both. So I go to my mom and ask her if I could get another piercing. She said yes and we researched for about a month.

So, We are on our way to get my nose pierced, the conch was an out. We go shopping at Walmart and we had to get back home. Im all excited about a new piercing and when i hear "We cant do it today, sweetie. Sorry" I was really upset. So we drive the 28 miles back home and my mom ends up taking me back into town to get it done. Im excited again and we go into the piercing shop. It looked more like an apartment...which it was but this lady turned it into a little shop. My mom gets the forms to fill out and I start to talk to these two girls who were there. They both had their noses pierced, so I asked them about it.

"Well, it feels like being punched in the nose, you know?"

I had never been punched in the face before so I got scared. The girls were there to get their tongues pierced. I watch them go in and get that done and then it was my turn.

I go into this room and I was told to sit on this chair/table. She starts to talk to my mom about what I should be pierced with, a ring or a stud. My mom and I wanted a stud, but she told us that they tend to fall out easily so we went with a plain silver ring and I was to come back in and get it changed to a stud.

THE PIERCING

The lady told me to lay down, so I did and she cleaned my nose with iodine (it stings) and marks it. She gave me a mirror and I give her the ok. She gets everything set up and prepares my nose for piercing. She gets out a piece of cork and I say "Where is that cork gonna go?" She laughs and then shoves it in my nose. I hold back the need to sneeze for she had a needle near my face. She asks me if Im ready and I tell her yes. She counts to three and shoves this needle in my nose.I feel a burning pain and my eyes water and I heard a drop of blood hit the bed or chair or what ever it was. She slides the ring in and puts the ball on ( which hurt)and gave me a mirror to see. I like it and we paid and left.

On the way home all I could do was look in the side view mirror. My nose started to swell so I took some pain killers that just happened to be on the dashboard. We go through another town and I see a friend, I point at my nose and she has an amazed look on her face. We end up picking a random friend up and she spent the night. I constantly hit my nose in my sleep and i just laugh about it while my eyes are streaming with tears.

THE AFTER CARE

I was told to clean my nose 7 times a day with dial soap and I did that...for about a week and a half. After that I just picked the ickies off of it and I started to develop a keloid on it. My neighbor had a lot of piercings and he told me to pop it and drown it in rubbing alcohol. I did that and it went away. I just used alcohol after that and it healed up fine. I had a few incidents where I had issues with the ring and mom. I was supposed to go and get a stud put in , but after a while we just..like the ring and forgot about the stud. At homecoming, I put a stud in, but i forced the ring back in that night ( and lost my helix ring in the shower, so I had to force something in there, but thats a different story)

About 9 months later, I bought a purple 18 gauge horseshoe for my nose and I changed between the two, but now I just wear the ring I got pierced with because its heavier and I like it better. During the beginning of season changes, my nose gets irritated for weird reasons and all that. I don't know why though. And one time during class, I managed to slip a 16 gauge ring in my nose with no problem or pain. I put the old ring back in and I don't really plan on doing anything more with it.

I want to get another ring right above it, but I cant get anymore piercings.

a word of advice, DO NOT TOUCH NEW PIERCINGS! It will give you infections and keloids and all sorts of nasty stuff. Its a waste of money if you don't take care of it. I shouldn't be talking, but I ended up taking care of it later. And don't use alcohol on it. I guess its bad but I didn't figure that out till a little while ago, and DO NOT USE HYDROGEN PEROXIDE! It kills the healing tissues which means your piercing wont heal! Thanks for reading
