Stage 4 In My Facial Piercing Project - Septum
At A Glance Author [QUEEN] Contact [QUEEN]@bme.anon When N/A Artist Dan Studio Left Hand Path Tattoos Location Linwood, Christchurch, New Zealand THis is Stage 4 in my facial piercing project. It is focused on the septum piercing and another story will detail my anti eyebrow I also got that day.
One weekend I was going to LAN with one of the RQP members. I arranged to pick him up after software engineering. I sent him a text as I was leaving. Saying since I had to drive by Left Hand Path www.lefthandpathtattoos.com I told him we would stop in.
So after I got him and ALL THE computer gear for our LAN we pulled up outside the studio and in we went. I had two piercings in mind for this visit. A anti- eyebrow and the septum. I had never been a fan of septums but having seen some nice jewelery and pix on BME, I changed my mind.
We chatted for a while and Dan offered some advice to my young friend who wanted to come back when he could get some time off work to get his eyebrow done. He also had some questions about ear stretching as he would like to stretch one of his lobes.
As always Dan never rushed us was easy going and we felt at home. SO after I had got all my questions in I said, "OK, Lets do it". He said, "now?" to which I simply said "YEP"
We looked at septum jewelery I could have choosen a larger gauge then but opted to look at that later. Titanium ball ended open hoop was my choice. As I am a excellent customer and we get on very well Dan worked out a very reasonable rate for me. If you go in and tell him you heard of him from QUEEN he will take good care of you. So while he went to put the jewelry etc in the autoclave. I went for a wander to the cash machine. A note they do not have a eftpos and cc there. However the bank machine is walking distance.
Fast forward.
The piercing room is immaculate and has also just been repainted. It is sterile clean and Dan is trained in Brisbane his certificates are up on the wall. He also had no problem with my friend watching me get pierced. I lay down on the disposable covered chair thing which was lowered slightly.
I have a very high pain tolerance and I love blood. Still Dan went through the standard procedure, markings and explained how it would work. I was getting a 12 gauge needle and standard titanium jewelery. The clamps went on and the sterile needle had been removed from the wrapping. We were prepared. The needle went in. My eyes ran and I said but I am not crying!! He clipped off the tubes... but meanwhile ...
My friend... Nearly passed out and thought he might puke. He went very pale and had to leave the room to sit down. Dan offered him water and I shouted to ask if he was ok out there Still poor dear he looked bad.
The jewelery was slid in causing my eyes to water again. I questioned this and found out that any piercings in this area cause the eyes to water. Now I will skip the next part of this story as I had the anti-eyebrow done and that is to be posted later. So I got to get up and look in the mirror. I was very happy as always.
I could not wait till Monday and been able to head to class with my latest lovelies on my face. This was piercing number 8 for me from Dan. I will be getting the jewelry changed to a black and smaller half loop this weekend as I go in to get my last 4 piercings and complete my facial project.
The healing process was fine. I used a salt water solution and cleaned four times daily. Blowing my nose was a new experience. Recently I got the FLU!!! I though what will I do now. Still with a little creativity I managed just fine :)
Overall I have had no complications and it has healed beautifully. In future I plan to begin SLOWLY stretching my septum.
So recap:
Pain: I guess and I am guessing for someone with a low to med pain tolerance it might hurt a bit. Still it is so fast it will be over before you even know it. Do not let the idea of pain put you off. The pain was fleeting and occasionaly when cleaning I had the odd TWANG. Still nothing that stopped me from smiling admiring my newest addition to my face.
Aftercare: no problems one of the most trouble free healing piercings I have had.
Conclusion. Very happy will be back in soon. Recommend Dan and the rest of Left Hand Path. Thanks for another great piercing!!
