Ok so I always wanted a nose piercing because I think they are just soooo cute! Well my friend Danielle and my friend Krista did their nose by themselves so I thought it would be a good idea to do mine. I have done at home piercings before. On my 16th birthday party/sleepover me and a bunch of friends had a little "piercing party" and I got my tregus done. That worked out good but I eventually took it out because it wasnt done deep enough and it was starting to push out my piericng. When I was living with my friend she was going to do my nose but her father wouldnt let her with fear of what my parents would say. Well last night I got bored and was listening to music and decided it was time!

I took the needle out and put it in the alcohol and let it sit for about 5 minutes than i burned the needle to disinfect it more. I did the same with the nose ring. Well I started and it seemed like everytime I would get the needle through by the time I could get the stupid screw ring in the inside would be closed up.
After this happening for a good half hour I was getting quite frustrated! I figured that it was because the stupid screw ring was sooo hard to start to get in! So with my anger in full rage I grabbed a very small stud ear ring I had. once I got the needle through for the fifty thousand time I took it out and just shoved the ear ring though not caring about the pain. It hurt alittle but the pain eventually went away.
When I woke up this morning I barely noticed it. My own parents didnt notice it for a good hour or so. My father didnt notice until my mother said something and she didnt notice until I was standing right next to her. They dont like it but they cant really do much because there is only 2 and a half months left before my 18th birthday when, if they made me take it out now, I could get it done and they couldnt stop me, so they didnt really make a fuss, just rolled their eyes and shook their heads. haha
All my friends thinks it looks good and I feel like I put it in a very nice spot. Some of them are worried about it getting infected but if that happens I will simply continue cleaning the infection out or if it gets bad I will call my doctor and get her to look at it. I didnt really do much research on piercing before I did it because it was a spur of the moment thing but I would deffinatly recommend that everyone do research before doing any piercings as far as what to use and after care and jewelry and such.
This was last night and yes it hurt at first but only for about 15 minutes at the most. After than it was fine. I clean it twice a day with alcohol and twist is after each cleaning. After about two weeks I will try the screw ring again but it I dont get it in the first try im going to put the ear ring back in for fear of it possibly closing up.
I am all for at home self piercing.. but only for cerrtain ones. Ears, nose and lip im all im for but for ones that are to be really deep such as navel, tounge, eyebrow, and any other piercings like that should be done by a pro. If you do do any piercings at home make sure to starilize everything and clean it atleast twice a day. but after a few weeks stop usuing a cleaning solution for it will not heal with the constant use.. switch to something else like a sea salt water and things like that. If any infections occur you should consult your doctor for some piercings can be very dangerous if infection does happen. You do not simply want to take it out for the infection can spread to the blood stream and that can get very bad and not fun at all. Wtih all of that said....
