Hey Guys! How's it Going? This is my nose piercing story!

I got my nose pierced shortly after graduation, since we're not allowed to have anything "unnatural" in my school. We can't have piercings, tattoos, or unnatural hair color, which is like all of me! You can imagine how I looked after I graduated...I was excited and terrified at the same time!! I wanted to start getting things pierced, starting with my ears, and moving my way down!

I read up on all of the tattoo parlors, and visited the health and safety board in the town I was getting it down in. I really recommend that you do that, especially if it's a big town. They have all the info that the parlor won't put on they're site or even on the site that the health department puts out. I finally decided on a place that was one of the topped ranked tattoo and piercing parlors in Texas. It was more expensive, but I didn't want an infection. I know of a girl who went to our school a few years back, and who is now married and has children. She went and got her bellybutton pierced and got a flesh eating infection from it! She now has no legs (they were amputated) and is expected only to live another year or so! It's really sad when things like that happen. I think it's the dumbest thing in the world to pierce your own body, and you deserve an infection if you do! Just go get it done profesionaly! Especially little kids who are like 14 and 15 and only want to do it because "their parents won't let them!". Yeah, good idea. Go do that to piss of your parents and get an infection and lose like your nose or something! Silly...

When I got there, they asked me what kind of piercing I wanted, and I finally decided on a small "diamond" silver screw. They took me into the room, and he started. They gave me a tissue in case I cried (or my eyes watered-sometimes with nose piercings they get your nerve and it makes your eyes water like crazy). Then he cleaned off my nose on the outside and handed me a Q-tip with the soap and asked me to clean out the nostril. Then he opened all of the supplies from seperate packages (make sure that they do that-each thing-from the needle to the supplies to bend the screw-make sure each comes out of a sealed package). Then he cut the screw and bent it. Then he took the needle and put a "cork" (which is a metal tube with a cork on the inside, that way the needle will go into the cork and hit the metal, not the inside of your nose...) He pushed the needle through, and I was so scared! I was shaking so hard he asked me to stop moving! Then he pushed it through and it seriously (no lie) hurt for a half second, then it didn't hurt. It didn't hurt even when the put the screw in, it just felt it very awkward...

Then he gave me the mirror, and I saw it...and I loved it! I still have it and still love it! Also, you shouldn't play with it if you get a screw! I know it's tempting and you really want to touch it, but don't. Mine fell out once when I was playing with it and I'd only had it like a few weeks, and then I had to put a needle in and an earing stud until I could put in a new nose piercing. I can change them now, but it was very painful and sore and swollend after that!!

Well, that's my story, and believe me, you make yourself a lot more scared about that it will be! Even if you hate needles, like me, it's not bad at all! I'm going to get my eyebrow pierced soon, and I'm not very worried at all. The nose is a great place to start if you're thinking of getting more than one!!

Also, let me just advise you not go bycicling without a helmet! I know that sounds random, but I went mountain biking this summer and crashed and broke my collar bone, lost a lot of skin, and got all Five of my cartilage piercings got mangled and torn. They had to take a a HUGE shot and numb my ear then pull the earings out. All the doctors asked me if I would get any more piercings and I was "Yeah! Duh!" I mean how often do you get in that bad of a wreck?? Anyway, if you go mountain biking (especially if you have a lot of piercings!) wear a helmet! Thanks guys for reading!
