I have wanted to get my nose pierced for quite a while. It used to be my tongue that I wanted done, but I knew that was something my parents would NEVER give in to. I brought the subject up to my mom a few times, but she never gave me a straightforward answer. I showed her a few pictures of other girls I knew that had their noses pierced, and she said that it did look pretty cute, and that it would probably look cute on me too. But still, she always just said, "Maybe," or "I'll think about it," or "I'll talk to your dad." However; I was definitely not ready to give up.

I had been texting one of my friends all morning, she was telling me that she was going to get her nose done at Lenny's that day, and that I should go with her.
I told my mom about Brandie's plan and mine. I had already called Lenny's and asked the price of the piercing, if a note from my mom would work, when I could go in... All that jazz. I told my mom exactly what Lenny told me.
The piercing costs $30. A handwritten note with a signature from my mom was acceptable. I could go in anytime in the afternoon before 7:00. I also told my mom that if she absolutely did not like my piercing, that I would take it out, no questions asked, and pay her back the $30.
My mom was still not too crazy about the idea. She told me to call my dad and ask him what he thought about the whole thing. I got really worried that I'd never get my nose pierced if I had to ask my dad permission. He HATES piercings. But, I did want it bad enough, so I called him up and told him everything I told my mom.
He said it was fine. I was so pumped! So my mom wrote me a note, signed it, gave me $30, and I went and picked up Brandie and we went to get our noses done together... because that's what best friends do, you know?
So anyways, we got there and filled out the piece of paper and gave Lenny our notes from the parents. He said Sonny was ready in the back. We went into the little room where Sonny was.
I decided to go first. I sat down and he asked what side of my nose I wanted my piercing on. Brandie and I had both decided to put it in the left nostril, so that's what I told him. He cleaned off that side of my nose with a little cleaning pad and put some Novocain on the outside. Then he put a little purple dot on it. I checked it out in the mirror and told him it was in a good spot.
I grabbed Brandie's hand, I was starting to get really nervous... after all, the only thing I had ever had pierced were my ears! Sonny put a clamp on my nose and picked up the needle (I believe it's a 16 gauge). He pushed the needle through my nostril and I didn't feel a thing. It didn't hurt, at all! I sat there with a huge needle protruding through my nose and I asked if I was done. He kind of laughed and took out the needle as he put in the little nose stud. Then he said, "Yeah, you're done, kiddo."
I couldn't believe it was that easy! I checked out my new piercing in the mirror, all I could do was smile. I turned to face Brandie. She had seated herself on the bench already.
I decided to watch her get her's done, since I pinched my eyes closed during mine. BAD IDEA. I got extremely dizzy after watching the needle get shoved through. So, if you go with a friend, I would suggest not watching your friend get their piercing. Brandie told me she had to turn her head during mine.
Once Brandie got off the bench, I got back on it and lay down. Sonny told us that we could mix Dawn Dish Soap with some warm water and use a Q-tip to clean our noses as many times a day as we possibly could. He also told us to take ibuprofen to help with swelling.
So far, my nose hasn't swollen one bit. It is a little bit sore, but it's not bad. I'm just excited to be able to put in another cute little stud in about 5 weeks!
All in all, it was VERY worth the 30 bucks I paid. And I would definitely go back to Lenny's again.
