Hello! My name is Steph and I have many piercings, including both of my conches, industrial, orbital around my industrial, three lobes in each ear, snug, both nipples, belly button and a deep hood piercing. But this experience is about my nose piercing.
At A Glance Author Steph When A month ago I went into my piercing/tattoo shop to be with a friend of mine who was getting her first tattoo (actually she was getting two, both feet done) and before we went in to do her tattoo I was chatting with my piercer about what I should do next. I had been talking with him for a few days about what I should get done, and I told him I wanted to get something that nobody else had; but when I showed up he was very busy and we didn't have time to chat, so when he suggested getting my nose done, I thought "well, I never really wanted that because everyone and their mother has it, but I guess I could get it done and get another crazy one as my next piercing" so I said ok.
So I talked with my friend who had already gotten it done and my piercer who both said that it would be the least painful piercing out of all of mine, so I wasn't all that nervous. Thank goodness my piercer knows me because once I started getting a little bit nervous, he snapped at me and told me he had people waiting and he had to do it right then. So I sat still as he marked me and checked it out (perfect!)normally at this point he would talk people through it, saying things like "ok, on the count of three I want you to take a deep breath," and then just pierce you so you dont have time to be nervous about it, but he knows me better than that. That never worked for me because I know he is lying so I just prefer it when he simply pierced it.
So after he marked my nose, he put the needle up to my nostril and pushed it through, they were not lying it was not painful at all!!! I used to have my tragus' pierced, and a VCH and I would say those two were definitely my least painful piercings, but this was most definitely down there with them! It was a tiny pinch, then it was over! Although I will say that this was the first piercing (besides my orbital) that stung when the jewelry went in. But afterwards, I had a nice little sparkle on my nose and I was in love!!
Technically at first, I wasn't completely in love with it, I (in my opinion) have a bit of a large nose. That was one of my qualms before I got pierced that I didnt want to get it done because I thought it would call attention to the fact that I had a larger nose (which he told me I didn't but whatever) however my piercer informed me that it actually works the opposite way. He said that if you have a "physical imperfection" that you are self conscious about, and if you add an accessory to it, it will take the attention away from the physical imperfection. For example, if you had a mole right under your left eye, then got a nose piercing on the left side, it would take everyone's eyes away from the mole and right to the piercing. After hearing this it calmed me down and made me realize that he has been doing this for a long time and would know a lot better than I would.
But after getting used to the sparkle on my nose, I fell more and more in love with it!!! It looks completely adorable and it was actually the very first piercing I got that my parents were not only ok with, but liked! My mother claims it is her favorite of all of my piercings, which is saying a lot because she always told me that if I got another piercing in my ear it would collapse due to lack of skin left lol. But I dont care what anyone else thinks, I adore all of my piercings and I plan on getting many many more and I cant wait to continue my accessory's!!! My goal is to get 20 piercings or more just to even it out, yes i know i am strange lol but it is what I want to do and I believe that you should do what YOU want to do with YOUR body! We are only given one body so you can't change your mind and decide later on that you want to get your nose pierced in college, or in high school; if you feel the need to do it now do it NOW. Now, don't get me wrong, you could most definitely get pierced at any age and I completely support that and completely intend on being pierced until I go to a piercer and see them wince at the thought of piercing my old body lol and even then i may continue, but I guess what I am trying to say is, if you feel the need to do it right now then DO IT RIGHT NOW don't wait, just DO IT! If you are considering getting this done just do it you will love it!!!!
