Similar to other septum stories on here, I hated them. I mean I HATED them. I thought they were the ugliest things anyone could get pierced. But that changed...
At A Glance Author Katt Contact katt.PHOBIA@hotmail.com When It just happened Artist Amy Studio Creation Location Thunder Bay, Ontario The love started when I saw people on BME with it and I slowly fell for the gorgeous nose piercing. I needed it. I sold my mp3 player for $100 and was planning on getting it but the now retired smiley piercing caught my eye and I got that instead. Of course I kicked myself in the ass for that one, months after.
After reading tons of horror and positive stories on BME, I knew it would be my next piercing. The good thing? I can get a piercing and easily hide it from a mom that was highly against piercings.
My birthday comes along. I got $100 and instant thought? Septum piercing! I was so antsy for the next couple days. I couldn't wait.
2 days later, YES TWO, I walked down to my local piercing studio (I go to school like, a 10 minute walk from it) and hoping they had an opening for me to get poked, after school. Sadly the usual piercer I get to do all my poking wasn't in and I didn't want to wait until 2 days later, so I opted for my next option. I wanted it badly and ASAP!
They did!
I sat all through class, getting those piercing gitters and excitement shakes. I couldn't wait.
When I told my friends I wanted it, I got the usual answer "Why do you want to look like a bull?" "Whoa, don't shake a red flag in front of her, she might charge". But I didn't care – I was going to get it!
Time came and I walked down to the studio. I paid and then me being me – I was about 20 minutes early but good thing that the piercer Amy, wasn't doing anyone before me so she took me right away.
Surprisingly she remembered doing my navel! (the story is somewhere on here)
Shaking in the chair, she fixed the 14g horseshoe to fit over the "septum" of my nose (which is that little piece between your two nostrils). I wanted it over and done with.
I read on here that the clamps hurt the most and your nose and eyes water like shit. Haha is all I have to say.
I faced Amy and felt for my "sweet spot". Next thing I heard was a little giggle. "You have a true septum" She said. "True septum?" I asked "It's where your sweet spot is really soft" That made me happy.
My boyfriend had his arms wrapped around me and I had a death grip on his hands, planning for the worst. I think I have a bad habit of doing this, I expect the worst to make it seem less painful then it really is. Sort of like a psyching out kind of thing.
Placing the clamps on, we got talking about my navel and how I never felt the clamps one bit. "Ok this is going to pinch and hurt like a fucking bitch" Amy says. "Ok" I laughed.
"Wow, can you not feel that?" I opened my eyes. "No" *she clicks it to make it tighter* "that?" "Nope" It's weird, I never felt the clamps on my stomach and I couldn't even feel that.
She picked up the needle and I tensed up. "Breathe in then out, then in."
Poke. If even that. I barely even felt it. I looked at my boyfriend and he laughed. Apparently I looked like some African person that gets those stick like things through their noses?
She switched the needle to jewellery which is ALWAYS worse then the actual piercing, tightened the ball and I hopped off the chair and looked at it.
My god, it was like I fell in love all over again. It was GORGEOUS. It was my most pain free piercing and my eyes didn't even water one bit. It hurt WAY less then my nostril itself.
I grabbed my stuff, and walked out of the room and was handed salt but the ever so known local bands drummer. He said it was wiikid.
It's been about... 7 hours and it's not tender or anything and I can flip it up fine and take it down. More then likely Ill just do the whole LITHA method which is leave it the hell alone and just clean it when I shower every day
If you are looking into this piercing – I say DEFINITELY get it because it's worth it. The only thing is, for every person that suits it, there's one that doesn't. My boyfriend said he HATED them before he saw mine, but eventually fell in love hours after. So be careful and happy poking :)
