Alrighty, My name's Dave, and I'm going to talk about my bridge piercing experience, it happend about an hour ago, and I'll probably have a bit of trouble making this 800 words. So for those of you who would like to hear about the actual piercing procedure, scroll to the bottom while I explain what steps lead to the piercing and etc.

Well, I'm 15 now, and just finishing up my 10th grade.

I first became interested in the 7th grade, when I saw some random guy with a lip piercing, it intrigued me, and I asked my parents, but of course I was WAY too young, and even though I didn't understand why I couldn't have it, I sort of gave up on it for a while.

The idea later came back to me in the 9th grade, around December.

Still, when I asked my parents about getting my lip pierced, it was an automatic no, so I hounded my parents until about August that year, when they finally decided I could have it as a reward to passing my summer school subjects well.

I got it done the following week, met my piercer for the first time, her name is Terry Linn, she owns her own business called 'Terry Linn Attractive Piercing'. I had been around to a few different shops before this, and I thought they were relatively clean, well I was taken aback when I first stepped into Terry's shop. It was a much more comfortable atmosphere then any of the places I'd been to before, music playing, a waiting area, private rooms for piercing, it looked very cozy to me, and that was important considering I was pretty nervous.

Anyway, the piercing went well, I found out that I was allergic to metal jewlery, so I now use mainly titanium, and bioplass.

The following January, my girlfriend and I decided to make a bet about piercings. Of course I lost, and it ended up with me getting my other side of my lip done, so.. The Snakebite piercing. That went well also, no problems.

So back to what you're reading this for, it's now June 8th, 2007.

I had been thinking about the bridge piercing for a while, I like how it looks, the look of symmatry it can add with piercings like Snakebites.

Though I knew it was extremely hard to pull off, I decided I'd get it done, and if it didn't look good, then I'd take it out, no biggie. The rejection rate is nearly half anyway, so no Huge loss there..

It took me about.. A month before-hand to convince my parents, and today I went and got it done, this is how things went.

I booked the appointment the day before, for 4:15 pm. I got home around 2:30, and by 10 after 3 I was way too anxious and excited, so I said to my mom, let's just go now, so we did.

Very little point in doing so, because the Terry was doing piercings all up until about 4:20 anyway, ha.

Well, anyway, I got in the piercing room, nearly just as someone else was getting up and leaving, ha.. I was really excited.

Oh, and by the way, the regular piercing size for a bridge is 14 gauge, as my nose isn't big (like most people with their bridges pierced) I decided it'd be better if I got it done in a 16 Gauge of Bioplass. I thought this would work with my nose size, I also selected a pair of black balls opposed to the standard silver.

Terry cleaned up, sprayed the chair, got all new instruments ready, took them out of their brand new packages, and told me to lay down.

The longest part of the piercing was actually her marking it, it took awhile of geting one side, and erasing the other, she wanted it to be absolutely perfect, she asked my opinion, my mother's, and one of her work associates. When we were all sure that it was perfect, She applied some numbing cream, and let it settle. Then I relaxed and closed my eyes as she prepared the jewlery.

She got her clamps, adjusted them, and decided she'd use a different pair she was more comfortable with. She applied the clamps with pressure, it honestly didn't bother me much. I kept my eyes closed and my face relaxed, she told me to start taking some deep breaths, I did, I was relaxed, and prepared.

She asked if I was ready, I said yes, and as I was inhaling she stuck the needle through, it wasn't a sharp pain, a very dull pain, honestly nothing worth saying ouch over, each of my lip piercings hurt Way more, and they were easily endurable aswell.

She had some slight difficulties getting the Bioplass through, because it's such a flexible material, it almost needed to my forced, this caused me no discomfort whatsover, Terry was very careful the way she handled it, it took about 15 seconds for her to get it through, and it wasn't pushing it in, more maneuvering if anything.

She then grabbed her clamp, and held the right side of the piercing, screwed the ball on ( the left ball was already on ).

I looked in the mirror, and overall I really liked it, the only thing I wasn't crazy about was that since it was probably going to swell, Terry started me off with a stud a bit longer on either side, so that it would have room to swell. But once it's healed I plan on getting a smaller stud, so that this way only the balls will show on either side.

I'm excited about it, I've got lots of compliments, and I'm cleaning in regularely with a spray that she gave me. I reccomend anyone to get this piercing, if pain is a factor for you, don't worry about it, it's alot easier then it looks.
