So I have been bit by the piercing bug and I knew I wanted something done. I currently have an industrial, tragus, multiple lobes, navel & retired tongue and nostril piercing. Well I decided that I really wanted my nose pierced again so that is where this story must begin!

The first time I had my nose pierced was about 4 months ago. The artist had a lot of difficulty getting the need through and it was very painful and I ended up taking the piercing out early due to general discomfort.
Fast forward back to May! My boyfriend picks me up from my work and we head to Mr. Natural's studio and I am getting excessively nervous. I have a bad feeling that something is just not going to work out. We arrive at the studio and go in only to find out that the piercer is out until Saturday! I was extremely bummed out!
Kyle and I get back into his car and he could tell I was upset, so he suggested that I try the studio I had gone to the first time I had my nose pierced. This place had always seemed a little sketch to me and I decided that I would go in, but if I did not feel totally comfortable with the piercer I would not get anything done.
I walked into Cherry Bomb and was greeted immediately by a girl with short hair. She asked me what I would like and I told her I wanted my nose pierced, and she said that would look awesome on me. She had me fill out the basic paperwork. I picked out my jewelry. This time around I picked a glacier blue nose stud instead of the plain clear crystal I had chosen months earlier.
The girl talked to me while I waited on my jewelry to be sterilized. She admired my other piercings and for the first time in a long time of getting pierced she took the time to go over the care instructions with me. I was definitely gaining confidence in the shop and my decision to come here.
She took me back to the room and I hopped up on the same green bed chair thing that I had been pierced on twice before. She asked me about placement. She explained that the first placement I had it was pretty far back and was probably more painful than it needed to be and I told her that it had hurt really bad the first time and I was reluctant to get it pierced again. She asked where it had been done the first time and upon telling her that it was done at the same studio by a man, she said "Oh, Will, yeah". She told me that back in February he was just starting out and because his hands are so big he had trouble doing small areas like tragus and nose screws. I then understood why my first experience was less desirable and was at ease yet again.
My piercer, I did not catch her name such a shame, showed me the new needle and clamps. She told me when to breathe in and out. Kyle held and massaged my hand which really helped take my mind of the needle going through my nose. She had the needle in and out and jewelry in all in a matter of about ten seconds!
I was thrilled it looked great! She cleaned up the little bit of blood around my nose and sent me on my way. It looks amazing and the pain is not even comparable to that of the first time. She did a great job and it was quick, clean, and painless.
I truly suggest that you rely on your gut feelings. You can get a feel for a person or studio and if its positive it makes the experience so much better. I find that I like female piercers better than male, but that may be because the only male I ever had was new at what he was doing. The total cost for my piecing was forty dollars, but the pain was minimal. It feels mostly like a lot of pressure on your nose and then a sting. It stings while the push in the jewelry and out the needle, but afterwards it is fine. It feels a little funny when you move your face but there is no pain. With nose piercings you must remember to keep them clean and not smother with makeup, this is very important. Hope everyone can have such a great experience!
Happy Piercing!
