I've been wanting a nostril piercing for quite a while now, and I finally have it.

This wasn't the first time I asked. I've been asking to get it for a couple years now. They told me they would talk about it while they ran some errands.
I waited for them to return, and when they did, I asked them if they made a decision. My dad replied, "Go for it. We won't be able to stop you in nine months, so you might as well get it now." I was ecstatic. My mom told me she would take me to get it.
When the time came, my mom and I went and picked up one of my paychecks and got it cashed so I would have money to pay for the piercing. We proceeded to the piercing shop.
I initially decided to get the piercing done at Hart N' Soul, a local piercing shop. My brother and my best friend have both gotten piercings there that turned out well, so I was comfortable with the shop. I've also run some tattoo ideas by the guys in Hart N' Soul, and they are a very nice bunch. I will probably be going there for most of my piercing and tattoo work.
When we got to the shop, we went in and a gentleman that works there asked what he could do for us. I told him that I wanted my nostril done. He told us that, unfortunately, the piercer wasn't in. I told him we would be back the next day.
We came back the next day, and the shop was completely closed. We waited for half an hour, called the shop, and nothing happened. I decided I couldn't wait any longer, and walked across the street to Token Tom's.
Tom is a nice guy, but I don't really like his shop. He is clean and professional, but I just don't really like him. He charges the same hourly rate to draw up tattoos as he does for actual tattoos. I don't know if that's normal, but the guys in Hart N' Soul only charge a $20 flat fee for artwork.
Regardless, I decided I would go ahead and get my nostril done at Tom's. I walked in, and Tom was getting ready to tattoo a lady. I told him I wanted my nostril done, and the lady said to go ahead and get mine done first, since a piercing only takes a few minutes.
Tom got the supplies ready, I picked out a nostril screw, and he told me to sit on the piercing chair. I sat down, and he told me to breathe through my mouth while he rubbed the area down with rubbing alcohol. After he did that, he clamped my nose. A lot of people say that the clamps hurt, but it didn't really bother me. I just felt like I had a monster booger hanging in my nose. He had me hold the clamps while he pierced it.
As soon as he shoved the needle through, I felt a dull burning sensation on my nose, but it didn't really hurt too bad. It was more like a sharp pinch. My left eye watered pretty bad, but I wasn't crying or anything. I guess I should mention that I got it done on the left side.
Tom left the needle in the hole, and he got the screw ready. He took the needle out and put the nostril screw in. I got up and looked in the mirror. My nostril looked great.
Tom gave me an aftercare sheet and read it to me. He told me to use some aftercare spray that he gave me twice a day. I was told to put a small bandaid over the jewel while I slept, to keep it from getting caught on my blanket or anything. He also told me to take extra Vitamin C and Zinc. He said that it helps with healing for some people. I paid him forty-six dollars for the piercing, nose screw, and aftercare solution. I thanked him, and was on my way.
When my dad saw it, he said he liked it. This is odd, because my dad is totally anti-modification. He doesn't like my mom's tattoos or my stretched ears. He grudgingly told me I can get a tattoo this summer, since he won't be able to stop me when I'm eighteen, in nine months.
It's been a week, and it seems to be healing uneventfully. I've kept up with the aftercare and cleaning religiously. The only real hindrance that I've come across is bumping it every once in a while when I wash my face or scratch my nose. Every once in a while, I go to pick my nose and bump it. ( I know, it's disgusting, but everyone does it occasionally. Don't act like you don't). Other than that, I have had no problems.
