My family and I started a tradition of going to Lake George every summer. This past year was the best one. I had wanted to get my nose pierced for about 2 years. My older brothers girlfriend wanted to get a cover up tattoo. And she had her heart set on getting it that trip. So before we went to the tattoo shop to check the cost we went to an arcade. I got so many tickets there. I'm 17 but still, I love arcades, lol. And I figured out how to time this one game, so I would get 100 at a time. I did that like 20 times. So I got a lot of tickets to spend. My bro's girlfriend and I got these big stuffed animals. I got a zebra, and she got a giraffe. Then we went to the tattoo shop (everything is basically on one long street if you haven't been to Lake George before. And if not, you should, its so nice there.), we looked at some tattoos in a binder, then they told her the cost. I begged my mom to get my nose pierced. She had said months before that I could if I get a small stud. She said no. so while everyone was inside, I sat outside with my stuffed animals pouting because I really thought I was getting my nose pierced that day. My mom didn't understand that you can have a parents consent. She thought you just needed to be 18. So I told her and she left me outside more, for about 5 minutes. Then she came outside and said "GO GET YOUR NOSE PIERCED!" I didn't think she was being serious. So we filled out paperwork and everything. Then the piercer was asked if I was ready, o yes, I was.
I walked into a small little room, and he cleaned off my nose, stuck something to catch the needle and told me to stay calm. Then he just poked me with the needle. It was nothing! I mean, it hurt but it wasn't excruciating. I felt weird, because I was so nervous and my palms were sweating. I was so excited though! I had my nose pierced finally. After over a year of waiting. :] It bled a lot afterwards though. Then I looked at the mirror and freaked. He told me how to clean it and told me about h2ocean. I figured I might as well buy some there. So I bought some to clean it with. So my brothers girlfriend got her new cover up tattoo and it looks awesome. I wanted to let my boyfriend know about it, I wanted him to be the first one outside of my family to know about the new metal, but he was away on vacation as well, in Maine, I think. And he didn't call me that night or the next.
The only thing I hated about my new fantastic nose is that the screw would always show from my nostril. It would hang out all the time. So I bought new ones after it healed, but that didn't help. They were cheap screws. After awhile I got a labret looking stud. I thought wow this is really going to help. I had it for about 1 day, until one day I was at the bathroom 8th period in school (the last of the day and worst class ever because we never do anything.) I decided to remove the ball and clean it, because it would get a little crusty because it was so new. Then I dropped the stud. I think it went down a drain that was in the middle of the floor. So I asked this girl if she saw it anywhere. She wasn't much help but she said she felt sorry seeing as I got it the day before. Then I got a new one like the old one I had. It's a blue sparkly one. I wish the ball was a little smaller. And now my nose is happy. :]
I always had wanted to write a story about this, because I thought its kind of funny, walking into a tattoo shop with stuffed animals and all, lol. I posted this now because this Friday I'm getting my lip pierced. I've wanted it ever since I was like 13, my older brother got it when he was about 19. He's 25 now. My friend Yi told me I should write a story about my nose, so I did :] I can't wait until I get my lip pierced. My mom doesn't know about it yet. She'll find out after I pierce it. My dad also, they're separated and I'm taking a day trip the day after I get it done. Kind of scared. It'll be worth it though!
