If you have a few minutes with you, I have a story I would like to share. For a long time I loved nose piercings because I thought they were so cute. I noticed that nobody else at my school had one and about 5 people had lip rings. My boyfriend was going to get his eyebrow redone. So I thought hey, why not a nose piercing? It was cute and I really wanted one. Since I was pretty much the only one at my school wanting a nose piercing, I knew I would get violent if someone tried to copy me, haha.

For Christmas, I knew it was out of the question. I definitely did not want a DIY piercing because of all the extreme risks. My mother did think it was cute whenever she saw it and the fact my youth group leader had one. So a bit of time passed and she got sick of the whining from me. My mom promised me in two weeks she would let me go and get my piercing which would be on February 26th. No. I needed it now.
Since we had a long weekend, I begged her to take me on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. She was yelling at me to wait. Finally, on Monday, February 19th, which is today, she let me go do it at 3 p.m. out of no where. I just said please and she said yes.
We got in the car with my sister and my niece and made several stops because of my sister. I was getting mad so I stopped at a gas station and got some gum to make me feel better. So I had to wait longer. We went to Acid Works in Mt. Morris because that was where my sister got her tattoo when she was 14 by Lisa. My mom said that they were very good and clean. We got there and my mom forgot my birth certificate to prove I came from her (we look nothing alike). They said they would not be able to pierce me without my proof of being me. So, we take a nice 25 minute drive back home as I screamed at everyone for ruining my day. My mom and sister got into a war in the car. We traveled back home, got my social security number and looked it up online once we made another 25 minute trip (without my sister and niece thank God) back to Acid Works. I was so excited. They got on the computer, typed in my social security number on my school website, and printed all my information with my pretty picture.
I talked to a piercer named Nick and I told him I would write about him on BME. So, Nick, if you're reading this, I hope you're happy that I mentioned you. We talked to Nick for about 15 minutes and looked through some piercing books as my piercer, Jedi, snagged me to the nose screws and told me to pick one out. I got a pretty little blue one since they were out of white. Jedi went in his little bright colored piercing room (which really cheered up my scared mood) to get materials set up. I waited with Nick and my mother, who seemed a lot more nervous than I did. I glared at people getting tattoos since I was the only one getting a needle through my nose. Nick went in the room and laughed at how scared I looked. Soon, Nick patted the little swivel chair and I jumped in. I couldn't believe I was doing this because of how scared I was.
My mom held my hand and turned away her head to prevent watching. Jedi asked me which nostril I wanted a cute stud in and began to clean it. I sat there all shaky and as Jedi grabbed the clamps, I reached for Nick's hand. Jedi told me to breathe as he pushed the clamp on my nose. (Apparently, my mother told me she looked over and said the receiving tube was in my nose and I didn't even feel it). I was just focused on the needle coming through. I closed my eyes as I felt the big needle touch the side of my nose. Then, I felt it go through my nose with a very sharp but quick pain. Then Jedi announced it was done.
Honestly, the thing only hurt about 5-10 seconds. After the jewelry came in, I could feel it sore and now about 4 hours later I can't feel it. I love it!
If you are ever in Michigan and think about getting a tattoo or a piercing done, I suggest you go see Jedi or Lisa at Acid Works. They really know what they are doing and are very good at it. My nose looks awesome especially with my piercing. If it weren't for BME, I don't think any of this would have ever happened. :)
