I had been planning on getting my high nostril done since I had met a guy at a show with both his high nostrils done, and it was exactly what I needed to find another part of me. That unique piercing that would add to my style that I have been trying to establish since I was a little girl, but then again, who is not searching for that.

I originally came on here to see how it could vary and all of that fun stuff. After asking some people about it, I was a little worried about how little people knew about high nostrils. I started to wonder if (one of) my piercer(s)had even done a high nostril before.
Time just happened to fly by and I was still broke so I would have to wait until I started summer job and then I would have to wait for my first paycheck. Having to work full time on a small island without someone to pierce me meant that I would have to wait even longer until I could get this piercing that I longed for so much. About half way through the summer I walked into west coast with my mother (she was hesitant on even letting me get the piercing in the first place) and asked if they would be willing do it. Quinn had to ask Kelly about it and so I would have to wait a little bit longer, but still determined to get it done.
Finally it was a week or two before school was starting and I returned home for one of my weekends to visit some friends and to finally get my piercing done. I had forgotten to book an appointment but I told them I would be in sometime before school started. I had gone with my friend Rachelle, who comes with me for all of my piercings; she loves the idea of piercings but is not into the pain involved. I was chickening out a little bit and was just going to get the bottom of my navel done instead, but Rachelle insisted on me getting my high nostril (thank god for her).
Even though Quinn had never done a high nostril before I had complete faith in him, I mean he's a professional right. Once I got into the piercing room, I had no problem and totally psyched for it, only a few more minutes until I had the piercing I had been wanting for what seemed forever. It had felt so weird to have a Q-tip go up my nose, but we had to see how far up we could go before we hit the bone. On the first try we had the perfect marking and were ready to go, to be truthful, I wish we could have gone a bit higher but the bone was in the way. Although, I had been hoping to have my eyes open while he did it, he told me to close them because I might freak out if I saw the needle. I really wish he did not make me close my eyes, but I think it may have been for the better that I had.
Quite honestly, the receiving tube hurt more then the needle and the only reason I knew I had the needle in my nose was because my eyes started watering. My friend Rachelle said that the nose has a lot of nerves and that's probably why my eyes watered, she had found it odd that my eyes watered because they never had before
So something had gone weird, so he had to put the needle through again, I had no problem with it, I thought the needle sticking out of my nose was quite attractive, thank you.
Second time through, we nicked a vein. I could feel the blood running down the side of my face, also I attractive I thought. Then as Quinn was putting the jewelry in (as I still had my eyes closed) all I hear is him say "we've got a bleeder". My friend had turned away for two seconds right before he said that and she couldn't believe how much blood had pooled up into my eye area. I also didn't mind that, just another experience.
As I was paying I was trying to breath through my nose and it sounded like I had a cold, I found it amusing. It must have stayed clogged up for 4 or 5 hours.
Of course having something new to look at on your nose that's all you can concentrate on for a couple of days (not good if you get so distracted at work).
I've now had my high nostril for over a month and still very pleased with it. In fact, I'm getting my other side done as soon as Quinn gets back or after grad photos. The quest for finding myself continues.
