Well,I've been into piercings for a while now.I've had my tongue, labret, left side of my lip, both nipples, belly button, and both wrists pierced and I thought it was time for a new piercing.

It all started about a year and a half ago when I got the infamous "piercing itch". I decided to the right way this time about getting a piercing...I asked my mom first. She actually agreed this time.Yay! So about 6 months down the road we finally made it into the shop(I wont say their name because they're complete morons...but if anyone wants the name of it that lives in my town, feel free to contact me so I can pre-warn you!!).My mom filled the papers out and we sat and waited for about 5 minutes.

Here's where the real fun begins! We walk back to the room. This is where I start to get really nervous but it seems clean and what-not.I sit down on the table and I'm looking around. This was the first sign that I should not have stayed. All the clamps that she used were in one little basket...all together. She takes a pair out...with her bare hands. She sets the clamps down beside me on the table and walks to the back. She comes back with the jewelry she's going to use and the needle as well. She starts to open the needle package...again with her bare hands. She sets down the package half-way open next to me as well as the jewelry. She then washes her hands and put gloves on. Everything is already contaminated!!! She might as well pierce me with no gloves too...it wouldnt have made a difference!!!!

Anyway, she has her gloves on(now). She sprays the clamps with a spray bottle filled with alcohol, finishes opening the needle package, and looks at the nose stud as if she had never seen one before. Keep in mind there is absolutely no autoclave in sight...just the alcohol. She cleans my nose with an alcohol swab and puts the clamps on my left nostril. She squeezes really tight and sits there for about a minute while she's fiddling with something beside me.

By then, my eyes are already starting to water because the clamps were so damn tight. She puts the needle up to my nose and I THOUGHT everything went smooth. She gets the needle through fine and grabs the stud. Well...she should've at least took the clamps off to do this...nope. So they're dangling there while she's trying to take the needle out. She gets the needle out and TRIES to put in the stud. That completely didnt work. Well, she tried jabbing the stud in there, she tried putting the needle halfway through and then trying to put the stud in. Well...the exterior part is pierced but because she's only been trying to get the jewelry halfway through this whole time, the inner hole has healed up already. After fucking with it for oh...about 4 minutes, she takes the clamps off, and says "well, looks like we're going to have to repierce it huh?" By then, there's blood ALL OVER my face and my shirt. My mom was the one that had to get me a tissue because the piercer was obviously too incompetent to do two things at once. After she gets the blood off of my face, she has another stab at it. It works this time and she gets the jewelry in no problem. By the time its over with I'm so pissed that my whole body is shaking, I'm dizzy from the fuckin blood loss,I'm wearing a white shirt that has blood running all the way down, and I can taste blood from it going down my throat when she told me to tilt my head up when she tried piercing it the first time.

I took care of it religiously but up popped a problem a couple of days later. The stud wasnt long enough because my nose was so swollen that through the night,it pushed itself halfway out and by morning the inner hole was healed up completely.I had to retire it later that day...I was so pissed.Anyway, point of the story you ask? At least go and check out the place before you put your life in somebody else's hands.

But a couple of months later I got bored around 4:00 in the morning, took out a brand new piering needle that I had and did it myself.I can safely say that it turned out pretty good if I do say so myself!! But thats another story for another day!!!!

But all jokes aside, that experience could've turned out so much worse than it did. At least go check out the place you're thinking about a day or so in advance. Believe me, taking a couple of minutes out of your busy life to go check out a place that you're entrusting with your well being is well worth it!!! Later days kids!!!
