I had my septum pierced twice a couple of weeks ago, at Ambience in Stafford, (a parlour which I do recommend for more common piercings), the piercer there did tell me beforehand that he hadn't done many septums and he only tried the second time so soon because I said I didn't mind if it wasn't perfect so long as there was a chance it might be straighter than it was - it actually turned out more crooked.

I took zinc and vitamins to help aid healing and decided to go to Hedonism in Hanley this time, as I had phoned them and explained what had happened and the girl I spoke to said they could repierce for me.
So two weeks to the day I since I removed my piercing I went over to Stoke on Trent. I as feeling apprehensive as I wasn't convinced they would give me the go ahead so soon after the other attempts so I prepared myself for them saying I had to go away and come back in a few more weeks.
I filled in a form to say I was old enough and knew what I was getting done then the piercer took me upstairs and showed me what jewellery could be used. I chose a bcr, and he showed me the clamps and then shone a torch to see where to pierce - he said that he couldn't see any sign of my having had my septum done before - this turned out to be because the piercer who had tried to do my septum had done it so far down the end of my nose, much lower than he was going to pierce me.
I sat up on the 'bed' and he gloved up, cleaned my nose, and clamped me - which made me jump slightly as I hadn't been expecting it at that moment and my eyes immediately started to stream, then he got the 1.6mm needle and slid it through, followed by the recieving tube. he took off the clamps and asked if I was okay, then clipped the recieving tube and showed me how it looked in the mirror - totally excellent.
My eyes were streaming and it did hurt a bit more than I had expected but I was fine so he started to try to put the ring in, this is where the problem was - the bcr just wouldn't go through.
He stopped and tried cleaning off the blood but that ring just wasn't going through.
He said he was going to put back the recieving tube and try again and I said I would have a barbell if that was going to go through more easily, so he got a curved barbell and put the recieving tube back through, it made a little popping noise as it came through and it hurt a bit, the curved barbell went through somewhat easier and I wiped my eyes and sat still for a minute.
He asked if I was okay again, and I told him fine - I definitely wanted this piercing - he said I was brave after having these difficulties and that I must really want it.
He then had to push the edge of my nose out of the way to screw on the ball and told me to take a look in the mirror, the piercing looked straight but far enough up my nose that it isn't actually visible without tipping my head back - he said he had actually pierced the cartilage which I had thought was a no-no but I know he is a good piercer so I assume he knew what he was doing.
He told me to clean with salt water on a cotton bud twice a day and to expect healing to take about six weeks and to come back to have the jewellery I have bought fitted once it is healed, or if I have any problems.
After cleaning off the blood and mascara from my face I paid the £25 and left - feeling relieved that things went well this time, I'm afraid I don't know the piercer's name but he's really nice and I would definitely go back to him.
I went and bought some ibuprofen and sat down to chill for a while, I felt a slight throbbing pain before I took the pills but haven't had any discomfort since then.
When I got home I washed off the blood from the inside of my nostrils using a gentle PH neutral facewash then cleaned up around the piercing with saline and H2Ocean spray and checked to see it it still looked straight to me.
I'm pleased so far - the only thing that bothers me a little bit is that you can't see that I have this piercing because it is so high up, I'm hoping healing will go well so that I can wear some jewellery that is visible, I've already bought a circular barbell with spiked ends and an omega retainer...
