Well, I finally got my nose pierced, after long debates in my mind about whether I should get my septum pierced or just my nose, it was finally decided to get my nose done, so I walked in to blue banana, and filled out the form, all fine so far, until my bank card didn't work, I was devastated! We tried and tried again, so my mate had to pay for me, I later found out that my card wouldn't work because I had no money in my bank! Oh dear. Anyway me and my mate waited for about 2 minutes with about 5 other people, but my name got called out before anyone else's, hurray. I've only got my ears pierced once, so I was nervous but more excited, as I sat on the table waiting, cold and with butterflies in my stomach but with a big smile on my face Mia got the equipment ready. In about 5 seconds
it was all done, I was expecting more pain so sat there for a while but it was finished! That shocked me, I actually loved the feeling! So I went from the shop with a huge smile on my face.

Now that was the piercing all done with, I thought that the worst bit was all over with. But, a few weeks later, I started developing scabs on my nose, now I have to warn you, am a fiddler by nature, and tend to fiddle with anything thats on me, or by me! Oh dear, my nose was not in for a smooth ride! I had properly cleaned my nose twice a day, but me being me, I tend to over clean, just as something to do! I think I may have put too much salt in the water, or over used the tea tree oil that was given to me by Blue banana (the place I got the piercing done) which I later found out, is a bad idea to use anyway! So when I started developing these scabs I thought, Oh I will use the tea tree oil a little more, this was a very bad idea! And the scabs developed in to an infection! This meant I fiddled more, because I love anything scabby and crusty! This meant the infection got worse, so I used tea tree oil more, and the infection worsened even more!!! This continued for about a week, until it just got stupid and everyone around me told me to take it out, I really didn't want to do that at all! But my nose did look an absolute state, it had become a yellowy, crusty mess that had covered my whole right nostril! So, I eventually went to the doctors, the doctor was surprisingly helpful and nice about it, he prescribed me a weeks worth of antibiotics! And this was all due to me fiddling with it with my grubby mitts.

After a few days of using the antibiotics the infection started disappearing very fast, I was so happy, and didn¡¦t want the antibiotics to stop! So after a week, the infection had pretty much gone, and the piercing looked ok, so I left it, and with all my will tried not to touch it at all, but me being me, I couldn't help myself!! For a while my nose was fine, it got to the 6 weeks after the being pierced, so I decided to put a ring in, I couldn't wait any longer, now this was a struggle putting the ring in, as my piercing had blatantly not healed yet! But I was impatient and wanted a ring in badly, so I stuffed it in, and that was that I had a ring in my not healed recently infected nose. Something was bound to go wrong... this was me after all. So a few days after putting the ring in the same thing happened. My nose got infected, it became all yellow and scabby, but shiny and wet at the same time, and so so itchy, which did not help, because of course I had to itch it! It was not a pretty sight! Again my friends told me to take it out, but that wasn't going to happen! I couldn't go to the doctors again!! So instead I bought some germolene, and see what that had to offer to my poor badly treated nose! The germolene proved to be a worthwhile buy, and soothed my nose, and within a couple of days I could see that the infection was slowly going away, hurray, and the piercing was becoming visible again, not hidden from view with the scabby yellowness! So again, I got all excited and wanted to change the piercing to a smaller ring, so I did... As you have probably guessed I'm a very impatient person! The infection had gone, the cute little ring looked nice, although I do have a big nose, so it looked as nice as it could look!

And this has taken us to the present day! I'm still on the germolene, as I'm very scared the infection will come back, and I¡¦m still me, so I'm touching the piercing a little too much. But this has taught me some very good lessons, 1) Do no over clean; this does not make it cleaner! 2) Do not fiddle, this does not help anything whatsoever, and is a bad bad thing! 3)Do not be impatient with a piercing, it needs its time to heal properly, and is a precious thing to be taken care of. 4) Do not use tea tree oil on a piercing 5. Antibiotics are amazing. Please learn from my mistakes!
