Howdy people.

I've got another experience on BME about my normal septum piercing, called '3rd time lucky' if you want the story from the very beginning.
I think that experience ended in my septum being 8g. If not, I pierced it at 10g with a chunky sewing needle and then stretched it to 8g in a week or so. I was pretty scared because id heard from a few people and also judging by the piercing, that it was awfully hurty. I didn't have an 8g taper at the time, so I used a 6g taper. Probably not a great idea, but at least if you use a lager taper the jewellery is sure to fit! So I got all psyched up with my lubricating jelly and everything, popped my web-cam on for some weirdos that wanted to watch me, ha-ha. I took the 10g out and put the end of the taper though. It was going ok, reasonably stingy, but not as bad as id imagined (at this stage). Stuffed it right through and out the other side, and with ease my pretty little circular bar went through. Damn it was relieving to get the jewellery in. Gotta hate it when the jewellery doesn't fit after a stretch. On with the story, I was happy with 8g for about 6 weeks, but then all of a sudden I wasn't quite happy enough.
I went to the markets (bad idea, I know) and picked up a 6g clear acrylic pincher. I liked the thought of wearing the stretching gear, takes away a bit of the worry. This time, I was just sitting on the steps somewhere when I felt the urge. So I ripped it out of my pocket, removed old-mate-8g and started to shove this in. it was a little painful, not as much as skipping gauges on a pretty fresh piercing though. I was happy for a little while again, but this time, it wasn't even as long. Something in my brain was telling me that this just want good enough. The spiked circular I bought in the 6g days and my (now dead) 12g snakebites made eating some things a whole lot more difficult (corn on a cob in particular!) so I figured I should bust another move.
I had a 4g taper that I heated up and bent a bit to make it easier and a 4g spiked plug and was ready to go. So I took it to the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror for a while. This time started to make me realise that it wasn't all fun. I took out my old CBB and started it going. It actually hurt this time, well...more than the others did. I didn't really expect it, but it wasn't the worst of the lot! I pushed it through and the spiked plug guided itself through the hole awesomely. I left it in overnight, then in the morning, I chopped up a KFC straw, pushed it against the spiked end and slid it in. that was cool for a bit, I mean, I could still stick things through it and such, but the things were not big enough.
So I once again trekked down to the markets and picked up a 2g steel pincher. It was pretty scary as id only had it at 4g for 2 - 3 weeks or something. I stuck one side of the pincher through the straw and pushed it out while the pincher went in. This is where the tears come into it! My eyes watered every time from here on in. I noticed that it seemed to hurt more every time (but I did leave it for less time every time)! Once again, there was safety in keeping the stretching item in. As it had a rather large diameter (somewhere between 1/2 and 5/8), I got bothered because my facial structure doesn't allow big diameter septum stuff.
So I bought myself a cheap little 0g steel plug. It was at 2g for ONE week (and fuck I learnt my lesson). I took the pincher out...and started. This one was dead set excruciating. If you've ever passed out from anything, you know there's a feeling when you're not quite there, but not gone yet? I felt that. I started standing up in front of the mirror, and ended up sitting down, kind of curled up in pain, in the corner of the bathroom. I was momentarily happy when I got the taper through, but then shattered when I couldn't get the plug in. blood was dribbling from both sides of my nose pretty hardcore. My taper and hands for that matter were covered in it too. So I freaked out and didn't know what to do, so I quickly put the taper back in and that just hurt again. I didn't sleep that night. Laying there, feeling the worst pain of my life along with the fear that the taper might fall out. When I got up in the morning, I went to the bathroom again, pulled the taper through and the plug fit this time. That was SO relieving. I got myself a 0g eyelet (oh and then I learnt that: o-rings good, flares bad). I kept it at 0g for 2 months or so. It was cool, I felt tough and all. But that whole time, I wanted to stick pencils through my nose, but they wouldn't fit through the eyelet. So that called for further enlargement.
I bought a 00g taper and eyelet a while back, but was always too afraid to use it because of the brutal pain of the last stretch. I then took a trip to Industrial Strength and they happened to have 00g Kaos eyelets in stock (I had to settle with glitter pink! I love it now though). Id heard that they were the best thing ever, but they strongly advised against stretching with them (so don't do it kids). I could see it screwing up people's ears coz they're soft and flabby and stuff, but I couldn't really imagine it damaging my septum. So I bought it home, trimmed one of the flared and tried to work it. I had 4g nostrils at the time, so they were a bit of a bother. But I squished it as much as possible, and put it in the non flared end of my eyelet, then just slid the Ti eyelet out and the Kaos one in. To my utter amazement, it was COMPLETELY painless. I swear I didn't feel a thing. I knew it stretched because it stung a bit when I touched it, but...whoa! It was so damn good. And that's where I stand now, 00g septum with a glitter pink Kaos eyelet. Oh, and pencils fit, so i made myself a fancy little septum spike out of 1!
I'm not done as yet as I've got 5/8 or maybe ¾ in mind now. Basically, I want to stick my finger through it. I guess we'll see if Kaos can work its magic every time. They advise against stretching with Kaos, so I'm not going to tell you to, but it worked wonders for me.
Keep it real, keep it safe and stay modified!
