The first proper piercing I got done was my nose piercing in November 2003

This is something I did a lot when I was younger, I have chickened out of so many piercing's in my life its crazy!
I came about the idea again though when I was 17. I was shopping with my best mate Hazel and she mentioned that she wanted to get her labret pierced. I thought that maybe if I went with a friend to get a piercing done it would be easier, so I said that I would come with her and get my nose pierced.
We set about finding a piercer. Hazel had recently got a tattoo on her ankle at Chameleons Tattoo and Piercing studio and said that the place she had got it done also did piercing. I remembered people saying it was a good, Reliable place so we decided to go for it.
By the time we got outside the shop my stomach was doing loop the loop's but I was determined I was going to get it done today!
We went in and explained what we wanted done and the man told us that we would have to book an appointment as the piercer split her time between the 2 shops they had. Slightly disappointed we booked for the following Saturday morning.
The following Saturday I woke up with the same nerves in my stomach as Id had the week before but still the same determination. I met up with Hazel at the bottom of my road and set off to the shop.
When we got there we filled in the usual forms, showed ID and paid our £25 fee's, Hazel decided that I would go first much to my horror.
I walked behind the curtain and saw that the person piercing me was a woman which slightly put me at ease but not enough I guess because the first thing she said to me was "Oh my god, are you ok your as white as a ghost!" I was so nervous that I had gone pale!
She told me to sit on the bed and got me a glass of water, and after a few minutes Hazel walked round the curtain to see if I was ok and I told her to go first because I needed to calm my self down.
Big Mistake! The problem was I decided to watch Hazel having her labret pierced which did nothing to calm me down, in fact I started to feel a little sick after seeing the needle go through!
After admiring my mates new piercing I was determined not to freak out again, the piercer asked me if I was ready and I said yes.
I decided to get the left nostril pierced and the lady placed a small purple dot where she was to pierce it and asked if it was in a ok position for me, I agreed and she put on new gloves and opened fresh claps, needle and jewelery
She cleaned the area the applied the clamps. I closed my eyes and suddenly felt a very sharp pain in the nose, I opened my eyes and the left eye began to water but I could see a long white tube going through my nose! I'd done it.
Getting the jewelery in was a bit difficult and painful to say the least, the stud she put in was a curl stud, so instead of it just sliding straight through she has to twist it in. In a fresh piercing, believe me, it is not the best feeling I have ever had! Once it was over though it was all worth it, I loved it.
By the time I got out of the shop the pain had died down quite a lot, I was more excited over the fact Id had it done to remember that it hurt. I was also surprised that I did not get any bleeding at all.
For the next few days it was a bit sore, but I bathed it twice a day in salt water as Instructed and tried not to touch it as much as possible. A few days after getting it done though I forgot for a split second that it was there and thought it was a bug of some sort, I tried to flick it off my face! My god that hurt like hell!!
After about 6 weeks I was able to change it, I put in one of the hinged gold studs, but I soon went back to my original stud as it was so much more comfortable.
I have had my piercing nearly 2 years now and have had my tongue pierced since, which I have also wrote about!
If anyone is thinking about getting it done id defiantly recommend it, it does hurt I wont lie to you, but its not half as bad as you think. Besides, it looks fabulous!
