Greatest Piercing Yet! - For quite sometime I had wanted my septum pierced. I always enjoyed the reaction it got and how not many people seemed to have it done. A few things held me back, the main thing being my job. I work at a grocery store and even my dyed red hair was a problem, so I put the piercing off. My parents also seem to have a problem with the way I chose to express myself, though nowadays there much more understanding.

Location Orillia, Ontario Recently I had gotten my industrial pierced and was itching for something new. I was in Body Co. which is by far the cleanest, friendliest and most professional place around. I was talking to them about my septum and they told me they could hook me up with a retainer and my piercing would be completely invisible. It was the long weekend though and the store was busy so I waited and came back on the Tuesday following.
I had read almost every story on BME about septum piercing and I'd have to say 90% of people said they found it to be painful and made tears roll down there face. This made me somewhat nervous, I've had painful piercings before but this was going to be a strange sort of pain. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, I didn't care though I was pumped. I brought a friend with me so she could get pictures of the needle in my nose; she was also there for some support to. I showed up and waited for a few minutes while I talked to the guys there. Ken, who was going to pierce me today and who had done my industrial, eyebrow and my nipple was busy at the moment, Ryan who had done my lobes was also working on someone. So we sat down and visited with the parents waiting for their children to be finished.
Finally it was my turn to be in the chair, my heart racing a bit faster as the moment for piercing got closer. Ken started talking casually to me, which helped while he cleaned my nose. He then asked if I was ready, which I wasn't but went for it anyways. I started to control my breathing and he counted to 3, on 3 I waited and was about to ask if everything was alright. I thought maybe he had to sneeze or something stupid like that and that's why he was hesitating, but when I asked him he told me it was done that was it and the needle was through. I wasn't sure if he was kidding or not until I sat up and saw the needle through my nose. Quickly I got my friend to take a picture and laid back while he put the retainer in. Still I felt nothing, I thought it was kind of weird I was expecting enormous pain but I got nothing like that at all, kind of a let down in some ways.
I was finished and all cleaned up hardly any blood and no tears at all. I paid him and tipped him of course for his great work, while I was paying I started talking to Cooper one of the tattoo artists. I had never talked to him before but he was extremely nice and informative. I left the store thrilled, I loved the septum it was so easy and painless. I told Ken that id be back soon to get my vertical labret done, and I was off.
It's been nothing to clean up no bleeding and no pain. I bumped my nose on my pillow and expected the worse but couldn't even tell there was something there. As Ken put it, it's like having a big booger in your nose and that's exactly what it feels like. Now I know not everyone wanting to get there septum is going to find it as painless as I did. My septum is just weird. But don't worry it's such a great looking piercing and so easy to hide if you're worried about that. One other thing I was worried about is a lot of septum piercings turn out crooked but before Ken pierced my he assured me that almost every time, if there crooked they will straighten out so I was fine with it after that. Also if you're in the Orillia area and looking for a piercing/tattoo or have any sort of questions go to Body Co. don't even think twice about it. The people there will help you out with anything and you'll have a good time to.
That's my septum story don't hesitate to get this piercing it's simple, looks good and it's a great conversation starter. I look forward to going back and getting more piercings, and changing my septum retainer to something more like a straight bar or kinked bar. Possibly even stretching it to 10 or 8 gauge, id love to sanitize a nail and be able to put that through it. Thanks for listening to my experience. Good luck.
