A couple of weeks ago I accompanied my friend nat to the nearby studio so she could get her nape done. I had been pierced here before and was very inpressed by the place. I had it half in my head to get something done but hadn't really given it any serious thought. I had been batting round the idea of septum piercing but had never taken it any further than a secret thought.

We went into the shop to see if Claire was free to do Natalie's piercing and to check prices and I found myself asking about a Septum piercing.I wanted to know about how easy it would be to hide it as my mum was quite uneasy about piercings even though she was used to mine by now. I didn't really want to spring it on her with no warning. I was quoted a price and I went off with Nat to get something to eat and get some money out. I kept it in mind that I shouldn't really flip the retainer up to hide it for a couple of days yet somehow from leaving the shop and the cash point I decided to get it done throwing away any social hesitations I had.

Back in Hepcat we filled out our forms, had a quick ciggerette and went upstairs away from the rest of the shop. There were a couple of people waiting for piercing's after us but Claire didn't hurry us at all and completely took her time, which I thought was very cool.

Nat went first as she was afraid that she would chicken out if left for second as she has done before. She had her piercing done with no fuss whatsoever and it wasn't long until it was my turn. I hoped onto the bed without a second thought and let Claire do her thing.

This was my first non ear piercing and it wasn't until I had the clamps up my nose that it dawned on me what I was doing. For the first time for me during a piercing I started to get scared and considered wimping out. It took a good five minutes to let Claire pierce me. In the mean time I whimpered not yet every time she picked the needle up and put it anywhere near my face. Claire was a star and told me not to worry about it and she would wait until I was ready. After some questioning about her own septum piercing I was ready for her to do it.

As the needle went though I felt the most intense pain. It was like this heat spreading throughout my body. It felt like my nose was splitting in half. But it wasn't a bad pain. It hurt but it gave me and almost warm glow inside. The fuss I had made was instantly forgotten as I sat there with this plastic straw in my nose. The pain lasted about 2 seconds, if it was even that. She gave me a minute before putting the jewellery in it and I didn't even feel it go in. The main thing that was bugging me was the water streaming down my face. Everyone warns you that your eyes will stream but that still didn't prepare me for the amount of tears coming out of my eyes.

It took another five minutes before I could leave as I was bleeding a bit so had to sit there with a cotton bud up my nose. I felt bad for the poor people waiting after us as we had kept them waiting for a good twenty minutes, but it was worth it. Claire was absolutly brilliant and we had a laugh while waiting for the bleeding to stop. She is one of the friendliest piercers I have come across and will try and go there for all my future mods.

This is by far my favorite piercing so far. It was the first one to really affect me as my ear ones were never a big deal for me; even though they might be for some people...maybe I am just dead in the ears. I spent the rest of the day with a huge smile of my face. It was the best feeling ever.

We popped back into the shop later on that day as Nat needed another cleaning up and we were in the middle of town and to go over some aftercare questions that didn't come up earlier. I had some comments on "the staple thing" in my nose and answered them all proudly with a huge grin.

Since then I get comments daily which I hardly ever mind. It only bothers me when people come up and shove their faces in mine demanding explanations. I even had a couple of friend's unexpendedly yanking on it trying to see if it was really or not. A lot of my friend don't like it, but as I pointed out to them It's my nose and I could do what I liked with it and it wasn't like I was forcing metal in their noses. That normally does the trick and stops anymore negative comments.
