Hey there

Well, my names Eleanor and I am 15 *smirk*, I've always been very interested in body modification and liked piercings a lot. But nothing special happened since last years navel experience, except more ear work but that's hardly worth writing about and all 7 were done with a gun *shocked expression* but I don't really get what the big deal is with guns, I figured the piercer knew what she was doing and nothing bad ever happened as a result. The attraction of piercing to me is that I guess I like the lead ups to piercing and the fact its yours for however long you want it to be if you look after it right. And the fact I don't have a fear of needles helps :P

So anyway, I wanted many piercings in recent months, an industrial and possibly a labret, but one step at a time with my parents, start small right? So I decided I'd just get my nose done, I mentioned it to them and they said I should wait until we come back from our holidays (obviously they thought one small nose stud would hold us all up for hours on end at various airports all summer long) but being the way I am I completely ignored that one. I was just in Manchester yesterday with my 2 mates when I felt pretty adventurous in Affleck's Palace.

I know nostril piercing in particular is pretty common, so I wanted to get mine done before too many of the 'cool girls/slappers' etc in my year had it and I didn't want it anymore.

Anyway it was fucking hot that day, urgh. So I went in to Skinvasion, which I think was on the 2nd floor, I'm not actually sure if that's its name either, sorry. They said they'd do it for me and it was £13, which I knew was a bit of a rip off compared to what I could get back home but I was past caring. So I signed my name and gave my address. They did ask if school and my parents were cool with it, but seriously was I going to say no? Course not.

Then I went into the back room and sat on the wooden bench thing, and yes he was wearing gloves. It didn't hit me as being as clean as my local piercer, but it wasn't dirty either so I decided it would be fine. I chose a glittery clear stud, after disappointingly there was no green :( and he then cleaned my left nostril and dotted it with a green pen. He then put the clamps on, they didn't even hurt, just a bit of pressure I guess. Anyway then he asked me to close my eyes, I opened them slightly as he pushed the needle through slowly, it did hurt a little bit, but nothing I wasn't expecting, it was a different sort of pain from my other piercings more pressure and longer process. Then he clipped the end away and pushed the jewellery through the receiving tube and said he was done, he passed me the mirror. And it never bled, (I don't think any of my piercings ever have) It looked amazing, unlike the rest of my face thanks to all that pink and black eye makeup smeared over around from my left eye watering like mad.

So then I got my after-care leaflet and was instructed not to swim, use sun beds or remove the jewellery for 10 weeks and to clean twice a day with savlon wound wash or salt water. I've always thought my body has accepted piercing well so I'm not expecting anything to really go wrong. It hurt a bit on and off for the rest of the day, especially when I flared my nostrils etc. But it was nothing unbearable. Anyway my parents didn't seemed that fussed as they ''can't be arsed getting angry anymore'' so, yeah everything's turned out all right, woah how smug am I? Sorry lol.

I went back later that day with my friend as she got her tragus done, they did a pretty good job on that too and it looks mint. No there was no 'crunch' or 'pop' when the needle went through but ah well.

I've already bought a silver nose ring to change it when my 10 weeks are up, I don't really know what school will have to say about that but I think the fact they expect individuality to be left behind at the school gate is mindless anyway

Well, cheers BME you really are one amazin site, I hope my story has helped you guys. I got it pierced yesterday and things are looking ok for now. If you're thinking about it, go for it, have fun. But I guess you should really tell your parents beforehand. And its probably a good idea not to lie either. I would recommend Skinvasion if you're ever in Afflecks Palace. Fast service and clean environment, pleased with the results. Well until next time Bme...

Peace out

Eleanor
