Well see I have always wanted to get my septum pierced for as long as I could remember. When ever I was just a little kid I saw a guy that had his done and thought it was the coolest thing ever. I knew then I would have to get it sometime in my life. The only problem was either I wasn't old enough, didn't have the money, or just didn't have the balls to do it.

I had been talking about wanting for a few months to my best friend cause he had his done. Asking all the questions like pain level, how fast it heals and all of that. He was very informative, so it made it a lot easier to see my goal of having it. At that time I was working just to pay my bills, I wouldn't have any money left over from my paychecks. So it was Christmas of 2004 and we were at his parents place exchanging gifts. I bought him a pair of plugs that he has been wanting forever. It got to be my turn where I had to open his. He got me a gift certificate to 23rd Street Body Piercing and said that he called up there got the price of the piercing plus jewelry and that the gift certificate would allow me to get my septum pierced. I WAS SO EXCITED!!! Now I had the money and balls at the same time.

We went up to 23rd Street the next day. After talking to them for a while and asking basically the same questions I had asked him we got the paperwork done. I got to choose my jewelry, I had to get a retainer for my parents not to see it when I was around them (they knew I was going to do it so its not like I was trying to hide it). I was wanting to do it at a 10g like all my other piercings but they didn't have any 10g retainers so I settled with a 12g. We were ready to get it done. The guy was a pretty big guy, the only name I know him by is The Septum Master which I thought was pretty funny. After he cleaned the room and all the tools we were ready. I had my best friend in the room with me also. Mainly cause he was paying for it and I wanted him to be there. As I sat down on the table and he got all his supplies ready he cleaned the inside of my nose. It was so weird some big guy cleaning my nose. Then he marked where it would be done at and put the septum clamps on, which helped him get the piercing straight. I was listening to him and my friend talk not even paying any attention to him about to pierce me. They were talking about septum's thats about all I know, then while my friend was talking I felt this kind of sharp pain in my nose and realized that he pierced it already, no counting or anything. I guess he could tell I wasn't thinking to much about the piercing at the time and that I was more comfortable. It worked! Then he talked about the after care and what I should do if I noticed anything wrong with it. Then we were done, I felt so bad ass and hard core just seeing my retainer which was flipped down. I loved it HUGE smile on my face too. Tipped him and then left to go to work. I wasn't even supposed to work that day, they called me in about 10 minutes before I was getting it done.

To this day I haven't had any problems with it. I clean it everyday still cause of the smell it creates since now my septum is at a 4g. Stretching it has been extremely easy for me. I haven't had any problems, and the jewelry has just slid right in. Right now I only have 2 pieces of 4g jewelry, a Single Flare Tunnel with an O ring, and a 1/2 Diameter Captive. The only problem with it is trying to find septum spikes or tusks in town that are 4g. It must not be very common in Oklahoma to have a 4g septum. Another plus that I am starting to find, is that people don't seem to mess with you if you have a ring that big in your nose. I can be walking on the wrong side of a busy hall and people will just split and create a path. I have also heard that a lot of the guys that are way bigger than me won't even come near me, like they are intemidated by me or just think I am crazy. So they don't mess with me. Its also a lot more peaceful not having people try to start stuff with me. Now the only thing people really ask is "Did that hurt" and I just tell them yeah a little but it all determines on your pain tolerance. I definately would recomend anybody to get it!!!
