I got my nose pierced on Friday, Feb 26, 2005.
At A Glance Author Lacey Contact Lacey@bme.anon When It just happened Studio On The Edge Location Bowling Green , Ohio I'd been telling my boyfriend, and best friend for weeks that I was going to get my nose pierced, and finally accomplished the task. We'd even gone into On The Edge the weekend prior and I chickened out, so we left. I still was not sure about it on Friday, but my boyfriend said he would pay for it since my birthday is coming up next month. So I figured whatever I'd get it pierced and if I really did not like it I would take it out ( It only cost $21.)
So we went around 9 - 9:30 to On The Edge, the place was packed ( as usual, it's in a college town.) I told them I was their to get my nose pierced and I filled out the paper work. Waiting for the piercing guy seemed like an eternity! The anticipation was killing me. Then this really cute almost average hot looking guy came out and asked who was their to get pierced. I was the only one so he took me & my friends and boyfriend back to the room. Before we went back I made sure that they did not have to pierce it with a stud ( I was afraid if it got infected that I would not be able to get it out, I had that experience with a cartilage piercing before so I was not taking the chance) and he told me about the screw so I was all good after that!
When we got back their I sat on the chair while he got everything ready. He cleaned my nose & marked it. I looked at it in the mirror and approved of where it was going to go. I kept asking questions and he was joking around with me.
"Is this going to hurt?"
"Oh it's gonna hurt like hell!"
"Are you serious?"
"No"
"Is it going to bleed?"
"Fuck yea!"
"For real?"
(Laughing) "No"
LoL so as you can tell he was joshing me. Which made me feel a little better! Anyways he finished getting things really and came over to the chair and he told me he was going to put the clamps on and it would be a little bit of a pinch (which actually did not hurt!) And told me he was going on a one, two count. He counted down and then it was over! My right eye teared up a little bit, and my friends told me a winced when it went it (which I know it did.) But I thought it was going to hurt so bad, and it did not, to my relief.
Their was mirrors on two walls in the room, so I could see the needle sticking out of my nose. It was really weird. Joking my friend said "You should keep the needle in their, it looks tribal." I opted for the nose screw instead! He told me he was going to use q-tips in my nose to clean out any blood. Well he had to use about 5 q-tips because I bleed a little more than usual.
"Have you been drinking tonight?"
"No, I'm only 19, I don't do that sort of stuff." ( LoL )
"It doesn't matter how old you are."
Anyways the bleeding stopped, but he gave me a paper towel to take with me, which a used a little after we left for some blood. It was really cold out that night so the cold air made my nose hurt a lot!! I was wishing I had not gotten it pierced it was bugging me that bad. But that was only out in the air, once inside my nose stopped hurting.
The first night when I got home I cleaned my nose. First I wash my hands, then put soap all around the end of a q-tip, and use another q-tip on the inside to push the screw up. Then I got a new q-tip and cleaned the inside, after that I got another q-tip and dried the inside. I wore a band-aid to bed the first night so I would snag it on anything ( since I sleep on my stomach.) And I plan on wearing one to bed for about a week or so.
He said I could change the stud in about 4 weeks, and I could have them change it for me for free if I want. I can't wait for it to heal so I can go and get new nose screws, I'm just not hip to this boring silver ball, I want some color, or something cutesy!
I would no have changed this for anything, and I'm glad I got it done. My mother was not too happy about it, but she's not said anything about it since that night I told her. And thankfully my nose does not try to rip it off my face.
I would recommend this to anyone!
