First of all, I did all this myself, so I'm just mega lucky it all worked out fine and they didn't infect me over. I take no responsibility for diseases you may get from being dumb and using the things i did.

One day I was sitting in my room, bored shitless, and I decided it was time for another piercing, since at this point in time I only had an 8g labret and both eyebrows. But I didn't have anything in mind really AND I didn't have much to do it with.
I was looking at myself in the mirror for a while (how sexy...no) and the idea of both nostrils came to my head. I'd been checking out BME for a little while at that stage, but never payed any attention to nostril piercings because I hadn't even imagined large gauge ones.
I had 2 flat-back bars that I was going to put in the sides of my lip, but I changed my mind and decided I'd rather have them in my noses. I grabbed a pretty small safety pin, and just jabbed it in where I thought the middle was. it broke through the first layer of skin, and it wasn't hurting yet, so I kept pushing. it was hard because the safety pin was thin and I couldn't grip it well, but it slowly went through, almost painlessly. It was no worse than a regular injection, you know, you can feel it but it doesn't hurt? It was like that.
I had 14g flat-backs for my lip, so they were obviously not going to fit through the tiny safety pin hole. I left the little pin in for a few days and in that time, I managed to get hold of a bigger safety pin, so I took the little 1 out and stuffed the big 1 in. it hurt a little bit more than the piercing, but not enough to throw me off. that was better, because the next day, I took it out and put a 14g circular bar in... it was too hard to find the hole from inside at this stage, so the proper bar went in the next day. I repeated the procedure with the other nostril about a week later.
They stayed like that for about 3 months until 1 afternoon, I felt like trying to stretch them, so I grabbed my 8g stretcher and just put the tip in, and quickly realized that way was most definatly NOT going to work. but I did like the idea, so I had to think of other ways. My dad had just (conveniently) bought 2mm (12g) thick nails, and that came straight to my head as the way to go.
I prepared myself for a lot of hurt, but much to my surprise, they almost fit right through! I was cheering, but I also knew they wouldn't be there for ever, so I bought myself a 10g stretcher (as wimpy as i am, i COULDN'T skip gauges with nostrils)
2 days later, I did my 1st nostril to 10g... and yes, this 1 hurt a fair bit, but the weird ease of the 8g stretcher after it made up for it. I had to keep the holes there somehow, so I made myself tunnels from the ink cartridges in BIC pens. I did the other nostril another 2 days later and it had the same outcome, painful 1st stretch, easy 2nd. I was happy...I thought.
I suddenly became unhappy with that, so I bought a 4mm (6g) stretcher. I was being really stupid and didn't expect that to hurt, but I made bigger tunnels from a drinking straw and I wanted them in. so I took the old things out, and proceeded to ram the 6g through, that was the worst so far! that was nasty as, and it then occurred to me that my straws wouldn't fit! 5mm it had to be then...*cry at the thought*
So I stretched it a bit, enough to fit them in, bot 4.5mm i think, and it hurt a lot, 1mm is a painful stretch in that area! that part sucked, and just to make it worse, I couldn't get o-rings on the straws so they kept falling out. One morning, they fell out when i was sleeping, and the stretch hurt like hell, and that was it, I was forced to fork out the money and buy something real. so I went to Industrial Strength here and bought a 4g pyrex tunnel. I repeated this paragraph for the other nostril.
It was a painful procedure, but I do NOT regret it, I love them, 4 gauge pyrex tunnels in my nostrils. Basically... DO IT! But get them done properly and don't use nails, I'm just too poor to do it all properly. Take care, don't rush yourselves and STAY MODDED!
PEACE
