I think I said in my last experience I submitted (My two little gems) that I had considered getting a tongue piercing for quite some time, but didn't ever do it. Well guess what? I STILL haven't done it! My parents had an argument on friday night, causing quite a stir in our household. I thought to myself, this is the time to let them know how I am really feeling.

So I told them, well my mum anyway. I said I was sick of being told what to do, where to go and how to live my life and that from now on I am doing what i want to do. This is not teenage rebellion,I don't have any reason to rebel and for me I get pierced because I WANT to do it, not to show off to other people, but because it actually means something to me, and this was the best time to tell her that.

So, on saturday I told my mum I was going into town, for a horizontal tongue piercing...

She said I was strong for standing my ground and I replied with ''well someone needs to around here''

Sarah came in and told me she really wanted her labret piercing and that she was coming with me. So off we went...

As soon as we got to town, we headed straight for Pro Body Piercing, the only place in the whole of england we will go.

Nerves were kicking in, but I kept on telling myself that I had wanted this for so long and that it would be worth it.

Inside, no-one was there and Paul was putting some fancy jewelry into the glass display cases. Sarah told him what she wanted first and then I did. Straight away he told me I shouldn't get a horizontal tongue bar, as they cause great damage to the teeth and often tear tongues... obviously I was put off, and as I have perfect teeth, I didn't really want them damaging.

So as always, I had a back up plan. I had also wanted a septum piercing for a long time, and decided it was now or never. I have been put off from getting this piercing after reading stories on how much it hurt and my friend telling me how much it hurt her boyfriend.

But I decided I wanted it doing.

Inside the piercing room Paul put numbing solution onto Sarah's labret first, and whilst he waited for that to soak in put some on my septum. I told him I'd like a retainer, as my dad wouldn't be too pleased and after everything that has happened it would probably be best.

Paul went to fetch my jewelry and he showed me what the retainer was like. It was so tiny! I couldn't believe it. Sarah had her labret pierced...bless her...

Then it was my turn. I had already filled out my form when Sarah was being pierced and was ready to go!

I have to admit, I had butterflies real bad, but Paul assured me that it wouldn't hurt at all.

He showed me the needle was packaged and that he had his gloves on.

Paul then got the septum clamps and shoved them up my nose....clamps hurt so much more than piercings! He lined up the needle and began to push it through my septum. I could not feel a thing! Honestly, all I felt was the needle exiting my septum and I looked to find the needle sticking through my nose. Paul put the jewelry in and hey presto! I was all done, my eyes didn't even water, I thought it would be worse than when i got my nostril pierced, but it wasn't. He had me and Sarah watch him destroy and dispose of the needle and got the mirror to show me my new piercing.

Even though all I could see were these two black things up my nose, I was extremely happy and couldn't thank Paul enough.

He told me what aftercare procedure to do (sea salt soaks twice a day with cotton buds) So we paid and then went on our way!

My mum wasn't bothered at all when I told her I had got my septum pierced,as she would rather I had that done than a tongue piercing, as she doesn't like them. She can't wait until I get a ring put in it and show it off to my dad, who will...let's face it be horrified and call me a bull.. But for now it is my invisible septum piercing...

Even though I only got this piercing yesterday, everything is fine and I don't even know it is there and my nose hasn't swelled and hasn't even been sore, which I am really happy about.

My advice to anyone wanting this piercing, is to not listen to any horror stories that people may tell you, because the procedure is painless and it is certainly worth it!
