I'll start off by saying I'm a stupid kid, you shouldn't pierce yourself or anyone else with safety pins or it could turn out bad, very very bad. Go to a professional. Or at least pierce yourself with a real piercing needle.

I'd wanted my nostril pierced for a while. I was supposed to get it in March but instead I got my eyebrow twice instead of my eyebrow once and my nostril. Then I was supposed to get it in June, but that just didn't happen. My friend had pierced her own nose a few months back and right away, I wanted mine again.

So a couple weeks ago I really wanted a new piercing. My friend was in Richmond and I told her she could pierce my nose when she came back, if she wanted. She immediately agreed. I had originally planned on ordering the needle and jewelry from BME, but well, that didn't work out. When I got money I ended up spending it all on clothes and whatnot.

On the first day of school, it was pretty shitty. So when my friend went to go buy a new nose bone for her nostril, I bought one too, for when she'd pierce my nose. While we were walking back to her house I decided I wanted my nose pierced that day. I knew it was a bad idea but I really wanted a piercing. We went to her house so she could get rubbing alcohol and so she could change her lip ring she just bought. We went down my house and I wasn't even nervous. Everything we used was a safety pin, nose bone, Q-tips, eyeliner and cotton pads. I washed my nose and hands and the safety pin. Then soaked the safety pin and jewelry in alcohol. Manda washed her hands and went back to my room. She marked my nose and I shoved a rolled up cotton pad up my nostril. It looked funny. I then started to get really nervous. So I got up and put on Alkaline Trio. I sat back down, breathed and she shoved that safety pin through my nostril. It hurt, I'll admit. It made my eye water. I was happy though. After a couple minutes of taking pictures and jumping around with joy I sat back down. She pulled out the cotton pad then quickly the safety pin and the jewelry slid right in. I took a look at it, and it looked awesome. It only bled after the jewelry was put in, and even then it was only a couple drops. We left my room, got some dinner and went right back to my room. I did my best to avoid my mom.

The next day, she pierced the other nostril. Except this time, it didn't work. We did the same procedure, but I started freaking out so I put on some Kataklysm. Every time she went to shove the safety pin in, I would stop her. And when I finally let her, it went in half way and I started screaming random swear words. Good thing my mom was distracted with cooking again. After a minute I let her shove it the rest of the way through. Owww. Then another minute later, I said she could put the jewelry in. She pulled out the cotton pad, then the safety pin, and it started bleeding. Oh did it ever bleed. How joyous. I only had the little cotton pad that was in my nose to get the blood, and my hands. Manda ran to the bathroom and came back with some toilet paper. I sat there for a couple minutes putting so much pressure on my poor nostril to try stop it from bleeding. It eventually slowed down. The jewelry went in, but stopped, at the last layer inside my nostril. It hurt so much to try force it through and I eventually just gave up and said Manda could repierce it a couple days later. But then....

A couple days later, I went home at lunchtime and my mom had found some smirnoff in my closet. Oh shit. I got in shit and while she was yelling she said "WHAT'S THAT ON YOUR NOSE?!" I looked at her for a minute and just said "What do you think?" That wasn't the best thing to say. So she made me take it out but said I could get it repierced. Not sure if she meant both sides, because she did notice the other side was pierced before too. I wouldn't of taken it out if I wasn't busted for drinking. Haha. But that's my experience, and it was all a very bad idea. Don't pierce yourself, especially with safety pins. I hope my mom will let me get both sides repierced. I don't know when that'll be though. But when I do get both sides repierced, I'll write an experience on those.
