I just got my nostril pierced about seven hours ago, and I could not be more happier. I had wanted to get it done since I was fourteen, but my parents would not let me get it. So then I promised to get on the Honor Roll both semesters at school. If I could actually accomplish that they would allow me to get it done. So finally report cards came out in June and I got honor roll.

So in June my sister and I went to the shop (Chameleon) to get my nose pierced. Since I'm only 16 I figured if I was with my sister (she who is twenty eight) it would not be a problem. Un-fortunately we had no proof that she is my sister so they would not allow us to get it done. At the time i was about the cry because i had been waiting for so long. I could not understand why they would not just let me get it done. I was also just cranky because i made a trip into the city for no reason now. However Once i got home, i realized it was a reliability issue so it was understandable that they would not let me get it done.

So again I had to wait! When me and my mother planned another trip, my mother then decided to get cold feet and did not want to take me. She is terrified by needles and was against the piercing to begin with. Since I could not get it done the first time she told me to take it was an omen, and that I should not get it done. Finally I convinced her she only had to come and sign the papers and then I would go into the room alone or bring a friend.

I went into the city with my mom and friend, and I could not be more nervous. I live about forty five minutes away and the whole time in the car i was really really wired because I'm terrified of needles. I pass out in Doctors offices just from shots! We went to the gaurage and up to the shops. There are three shops, one for tatooing, one for piercing and one for where you purchase the jewelry. While I was buying the stud for my nose (which set me back $72, that incluedes the piercing) I was talking non-stop about being nervous. Luckily the girl working there was so incredibly nice. She told me about her first nose piercing. Then we talked about which side to put it on and why. I decided with the left because I'm left handed. Talking to her allowed me to calm down a ton, and follow through.

Next I went across the hall to the actual piercing place to meet Erin. I was so relieved that Erin was so nice ( and she had rockin Tatoos- which I definetly envy!). They are really cool about bringing in a friend for suport i recommend only bringing one or two tops because the rooms are really small, so my friend came in with me. Then she (erin) reassured me that she did about 10 nose piercing a day and they're a cinch. She cleaned out my nose with Iodine and showed me where she thought the nose ring would look good. I thought it would look better a little further down and she was completely cool about it. Then she had me close my eyes and in less then a minute the stud was in. It did not even bleed, Erin joked with me saying i must be a vampire because most of the time people bleed a little.

I was so shocked how fast it was too, and painless (the whole ordeal of buying the jewelry, talking to the friendly employees, filling out paper work and getting it pierced took a total of a half hour and that includes waiting in the waiting area!). Honestly my 3rd earring holes hurt more. With the exception of a little bit of throbing for an hour or so after the piercing was painless. It hurts more to stretch your ears then it is to get your nose pierced, not to mention how cute it looks! I love it. So lastly I tipped Erin and she filled me in about after care of cleaning it everyday and what not. I in conclussion love chameleon! If anyone is looking for a clean place which is friendly i most definetly reccomend this place. Although it is very in and out, and a bit pricey, but either way the place is awesome. Next on my list of things to get pierced...my tongue! After going here i can not imagine getting pierced any where else. If the staff wasnt as friendly as they were i might have backed out.
