After staring at my right nostril for a couple months after getting it done in February, I decided that I wanted to make my left side match. I've always been a sucker for symmetry, and even though my right nostril already made my nose much cuter, I thought having the other side done would do more justice.

So one week ago I made a trip to my piercer, Wendi, at Krayola Body Art. She had done my right nostril, double orbital in my right ear, and VCH so I felt very confident in going to have her pierce my left nostril. She is always very clean, gentle (well as gentle as a person coming at you with a needle can be), and caring. She is especially a perfectionist, so I knew I would get perfect results in aligning the two nostril piercings.

I arrived at the shop, with her already knowing what I was coming for (even though it wasn't necessary). I made sure I had ate something and was well hydrated before coming. I wasn't all too nervous, despite my fear of needles, since I knew I was in good hands. I was abruptly reminded of my anxiety though when a girl before me passed out in the parking lot after getting her navel done! She appeared perfectly fine, but once she tried to get into her car she went down! Once Wendi rushed to her attention and got her back well and on her feet (giving her juice and some cold wet towels), I was gently reminded once again that I was in good hands.

She did her normal routine in setting up and preparing for my piercing (and I signed the way too familiar consent form). I was reminded of the "brain tickling" feeling from her cleaning the inside and out of my nostril. I made all kinds of goofy faces at her while she was doing this. Next came the tricky part, making sure the marking would align to my current nostril piercing. She had to mark it a few times, but I didn't mind since I wanted it to be perfect. It was also kind of hard for her to make sure it would be aligned since I had a quartz retainer in my right nostril. We decided to remove it for the time being and put one of her infamous purple dots on it to see the hole better and get better results. That worked out great. She showed me the markings in a mirror and agreed it was good. She then placed my quartz retainer back in my existing hole.

Then came the actual piercing. Since I already had this done once, I knew what to expect. I'm not sure if that made things better or worse. I guess I'd have to say better since my first nostril piercing went very smoothly (well the piercing procedure itself, I was SO absolutely nervous that first time) and really not that painful at all. It still didn't quite help my needle anxiety though, but my anxiety was definitely acting way better than the first time. I felt her insert the ever so familiar receiving tube, and then was told the normal breathing routine, then some pressure and a poke and it was done. It felt slightly more painful then the last one, but nothing unbearable. It then proceeded to bleed considerably more than the first one. Wendi and a friend who had came with me decided that I looked like "Rocky", since the blood was coming from the inside of my nostril. I sure didn't feel like Rocky at the moment.

She then cleaned me up and made me lay down because she said I started turning white on her. I felt fine but I took her instructions, just to be safe since I couldn't see my own face at that point. Once laying down though I kept feeling like I had to sneeze! Wendi held a paper towel in front of my face just in case, so I didn't sneeze blood all over the place. I would of felt so terrible if I had! When I first got my right nostril done I kept feeling like I had to sneeze then too. After a few minutes the sneezing sensation went away, and she said my face had regained color so I could get up. I checked out my new piercing in the mirror and already loved it. I, of course, thanked her.

After I paid and tipped, I was on my way as a very happy customer. As long as Wendi stays in the professional piercing business (which I believe she plans to), she will always be my piercer and I always recommend her to anybody who mentions the slightest bit about getting a piercing done.
