I had my nose pierced with a gun about a year or two ago, but it closed up because I had to take it out for school everyday and one day I forgot to put it back. So after I got a little bored of my tongue piercing about a month ago I decided to pierce my nose again myself. I had no money and no parental permission, it seemed like a good idea at the time.

I started off with an old used earing I had lying around (Eeep that was very stupid) and just pushed around the place that I thought that it was pierced before.

I got about halfway through easily, but the skin on the back would not break! I was in a lot of pain. It's really difficult to hold the nostril firmly enough to get the earing through because fingers don't fit into nostrils. I think that if it was a different piercing, (like an ear or lip or belly-button) it would have been easier to break. I even tried to shove random objects up my nose to hold it and spent 20mins looking for tweasers with a huge earing sticking half way out of my nose. Tweasers don't work by the way.

My friend tried to help and after around 4 hours we gave up and took it out. It may have been something to do with that I had it done before, like scar tissue or something.

I went into school the next day with a nice fat scab to show off.

A few days later I was in Claire's and one of my friends decided to steal me a pack of three nose studs so that I could try again. (Hmmm... the scab was just disappearing too) So I did. I got half way with an earing and the nose studs but the skin at the back wouldn't break, in the end i stuck an old badge through it (Urgh stupid me) and then put one of the studs in. It was very painful and very red but I was so happy to finally break the skin. I was so proud.

Yay I finally had my nose piercing! The only thing was; I got scared! The nose stud was an odd shape, it was straight and had a funny ball shape on the end to stop it falling out. So I freaked, I thought it would heal around the stud and the ball wouldn't fit through and I'd be stuck with a boring stud in my nose and expelled.I even started thinking of operations and things that I would have had to have done to remove it. I really know how to make myself panic. So out it came leaving another gorgeous fat scab for me to show off.

I found myself at Claire's again and saw the cutest purple stud (It was the right shape and everything, no crazy little balls to get stuck) so I took it home and spent half an hour breaking the skin. Everything was wonderful apart from a little blood. The blood kept drying on the back of the stud so I spent the next 3 weeks picking the blood off with my nails n taking the stud out 4 or 5 times a day to clear it with my hands (Stupid me again). Everyone said it was amazing, some of my friends wanted it done and my boyfriend thought it was cute, my mum didn't even mind the fact that I'd done it myself. I was so proud.

Needless to say it got worse, the whole of the inside of my nose is scabbed and bleeds and it's spreading out of my nose onto the outside. Its very uncomfortable and unattractive. I think that this is from taking out the stud to clear it of dried blood without bothering to wash my hands and continually playing with it. Today I'm staying home from school so as to save myself from being very embarrassed and I have broken up with my boyfriend because of an argument we had about me refusing to see him. He doesn't know about the scabbing and I don't want him to. I've decided to hibernate until it goes away.

The cute purple stud is lying on the floor somewhere.

I don't advise trying to pierce your own nose without any kind of after-care products. But I think I'm going to pierce the other nostril if this one clears up because it would hurt to put it through this one. Maybe I should get it done professionally.

Sorry for the bad grammar and spelling my Microsoft Word appears to have disappeared off of my computer and I'm not getting any more intelligent now that I hate to leave the house, especially for school.
