I am a very sensitive person and I have tried getting many piercings on my ears but they always got infected. Those were all done with a gun. Im also allergic to Stainless Steel, silver etc. The only thing my piercings can handle is gold so I always have to think about the after pain since im so sensitive.
At A Glance Author Unseen Contact unseenaddiction@yahoo.com When It just happened Artist Kelly Studio Beachin Tattoo Location Encinitas I was thinking about getting a nose ring for a week and after reading all the experiences I was totally excited!
That morning the piercing place opened at noon so I was pacing and nervous for 4 hours, I had no clue how it would feel since im so sensitive. If you touch me ill turn red quick.
I went with my mom because im 1 month under the age (16) of going alone. So we walked in there and no one was coming and then a guy said the piercer went to grab lunch and will be back in 10 minutes.
We waited there, I was very nervous and I was getting really heated up. The women came in and asked for a ID so I had to grab my Permit out of the car to show her.
I chose a white gold 18G nose screw with a tiny ruby on it. Kelly told me to sit down, it was a orange dentist type chair with things to hold your head still.
She handed me a q-tip with something on it to clean it with, I cleaned my nose with nose. She cleaned the outside and dotted it twice before she showed me where she liked it. I said sure because I wasn't really sure really where it was supposed to be. Kelly said this was the more comfortable spot so I agreed. She was a nice girl, very professional. She put the tube up my nose and told me the steps as it happened. The needle was surprisingly smaller then I imagined. It had a little 90 degree turn on the end and she lined it up to the dot she drew and shoved it in. I could hear the click of going through the first layer of skin ,which, don't worry isn't traumatizing. By the time I wanted to say ouch in my head she was already putting in the nose screw. After she shoved it in I closed my eyes because they watered and 1 second later she had the nose screw in.
My mom made got nervous because she thought I was in pain but I stood up feeling fine. Before I got my piercing I ate a sweet tart to make sure my blood sugar wasn't low.
I wasn't even red! I wiped my eyes off and paid her $75. I got in the car and couldn't even find the wire inside my nose, she did a great job making sure that it doesn't stick out. Its been a few days and it hasn't been swollen or red. It bled a little this morning because I yanked it out a little bit by accident. I clean it with this special anti-bacterial soap and contact solution (saline) twice a day. It only has a little bit of pressure when I scrunch my nose.
The wire in my nose is laying on top and I could adjust it but I don't want to. Kelly told me if it is hanging out or anything weird is happening to come in and they can fix it so I felt really comfortable knowing I was taken care of.
Cleaning it isn't fun. I use the soap and I tap it on and it says I have to get it out of the hole afterwards which is hard because you cant really tell if there is soap in the whole or not, you just have to hope that you got it out. Then I put some saline on a q-tip and try getting that in. I have to watch when I rub my face with a towel because I have had a close encounter where it got hooked and the nose screw almost came out.
My dad and brother didn't even notice, I had to show them after being with them for 4 hours, they thought it was a freckle. Its small but I like it. Ill get a bigger one in two or three months but im happy that I did it and bmezine.com was so helpful with many pictures and stories.
Kelly was a really great piercer, really pro and quick. Beachin tattoo is a cool relaxed place. The tattoos are all done in one room with everyone talking and the piercing chair is in the front of the store and if you look hard you can see the people getting pierced from the outside.
TIPS:
1) Drinking caffeine or taking vitamins before make you bleed more
2) Remember by the time your body responds to the pain its already over
3) Try keeping your hands off, even just taping it to make sure its still there and in.
4) Enjoy!
