Ever since I can remember, I've always been attracted to nose piercings. I like nostril piercing in particular because in my opinion they are very sexy and not to hard on the eyes like a lot of other piercings are. I'm one of those people who isn't spontanious at all, well atleast when it comes to piercings. Previous to this experience I've had both my tongue and belly button pierced, both of which I had to think about almost 4 months each.

So ofcourse I found my self pinching my nostril everyday to see how thick the skin really was that was going to be pierced. I know that probably sounds very strange, but I always really want to know what I'm getting myself into before I go through with it.
Two months prior to me actually going through with my piercing experience my bestfriend got her nostril pierced and while she said that it didn't hurt very much, it did get very infected which really put me off. After months of me saying that I was actually going to go through with this I finally worked up the balls to make a promise to my bestfriend that we would go to the piercing shop on Friday after school (I made plans with my bestfriend to go with me so that this way I wouldn't back out). I started doing a lot of research on the actual piercing,I read different experiences on BME and read a few articles on about the history of nose piercing and the significance of it. It was at this time that I also had to start really thinking about which side I wanted the piercing. I looked in the mirror and would put a little dot of eyeliner on each nostril and take a look at which side it would probably look better on (I know, I'm a loser... Initially, I was thinking of getting it on my right nostril, but I have a mole on my right cheek and realized that if I got my right nostril pierced it would make my face look very imbalanced because of this. So, I had decided was nostril I wanted it in, I had the money, now all I have left is to actually do this.
THE MOMENT YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR......
School had just ended and me and my friend jumped in the car, I didn't want to talk about what was about to happen simply because I didn't want to get worked up. We arrive at Evolution body piercing and I am greeted by a guy named Noah. When I first saw Noah, I seemed to recognize him from somewhere, but maybe he had just made me feel so comfortable right away that I seemed to have met him before. Either way, from the very beginning Noah put me at ease, he was a very calm guy who really knew what he was doing. I filled out all of the paper work and went into a small room along with him and my friend. I sit on a table and he begins to unwrap all of his equipment (needle, receiving tube, jewelry), and explains that it is all sterilized. At this time I am freaking out because I was hoping to have never seen the needle in the first place.I try to keep my cool, and not make an idiot out of myself as he puts the receiving tube in my nose and explains its' purpose. It is at this ti me that I close my eyes, so that I won't see the needle. I breathe in, squeeze my friend's hand real hard, and on the exhale, I feel some pressure on my nose, but nothing painful. I wait, and wait for the painful part to come, and then I hear "You're done". "I'm done?!?!" I say, "That's what I've been worried about for months?!?!". I look over into a mirror on my right side and the sight nearly brought me to tears... I know that sounds cheesy but not only was it absolutely beautiful, I really felt like I had conquered something. The pain factor on this piercing isn't, or atleast shouldn't be an issue because I promise you (although everyones experiences will slightly differ) that this was not a painful piercing what-so-ever, and it is truly a beautiful one. Since I got it pierced I've gotten many compliments on it, even my mom liked it! I washed my piercing everyday 2 or 3 times and it healed absolutely beautifully. For anyone getting this piercing the only thing I would ve ry strongly recommend is to use sea salt when washing it, and don't sl ack off on taking care of it otherwise it get's a big bump and is hideous(believe me folks, I've seen it happen to some good people).
