I wanted my nose pierced for a while now to add to my other 16 piercings (most are in my ears). I had been researching on bme for a while and all needed was a nostril piercing to add to my collection they were so femine and cute I just couldn't resist.

So I rang an awesome piercing and tattoo place in Brisbane called tower tattooing and body piercing. Ive had all my piercings done there with the exception of my navel and I have been satisfied every time, I made an appointment for that day at 3pm. As I had a shower I was syking myself up to the sounds of the band deftones after reading experiences on bme and people saying it hurt badly I knew this was going to be one painful piercing to have done. But I was determined to get it and nothing was stopping me. So the clocked ticked away and finally it reached time to leave. Mum and I hopped into the car and we drove the longest five minutes of my life down to the studio. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by Kerry-Anne (the lady who owns the studio) I know her from the other times ive been pierced there. I hadn't seen her for while but she is a very sweet lady, She told me that Jeremy was going to pierce me and I was so relieved, he is the most talented piercer I know and I a lways feel very safe when he is piercing me.

Anyway After five minutes went by he emergered from the piercing room, and motioned me to come over to the jewellery cabinet. I explained to him that I didn't want a screw or a cbr I wanted a labret stud put in instead as I felt safer with it in cause of swelling reasons and how impossible it is to get those screws into nostrils. He agreed and retrieved a few sterile packaged 16 gauge labret studs from the cabinet. I had a choice of a white or red stone ball, I choose a red one. But now writing this I wish I picked the white one :( never mind.

He asked me to follow him into the room; by this time I was so anxious I think I could have been sick. He wiped the black leather bed clean with disinfectant and said for me to sit down and get comfortable, as I watched him pull his utensils from the packaging he asked me which side I preferred. I choose my left as I have a Monroe on the right and an eyebrow on the left and I didn't want them close together, then he asked if I wanted to bring me my mum in. I didn't need her im a big girl but even if I did want her in there she wouldn't dare step in and anyway I like making her feel sick with my gory details afterwards its fun you should try it. Back to the story, he wiped my nostril with a antibacterial wipe and dotted me and handed me the mirror I didn't like the position so he dotted me four times and said to tell him which one I would prefer, eventually I choose a spot. He then explained that a metal receiving tube would have to go up my nose and he apologized if was anno ying me. He handed me a tissue for my eyes just incase they watered which is a natural thing. I was starting to get excited. I closed my eyes, I could feel the tip of the needle pressing ever so lightly against my skin. I was ready for this. He started to push, now I am not going to lie to you it HURT but only for a few seconds, I grit my teeth (nothing unusual). The last push through the inside of my nose seemed to go on forever, after the needle popped through the inside of my nostril the pain just instantly went away. Then the tear fell from one of my eye. But the good thing is as soon as he pulled the needle out and left the plastic in my nose everything went numb which was probably part of the adrenaline pumping through my veins. He slowly slipped the labret stud in the plastic tube and pulled the tubing out and finally screwed the red jewel ball on. I opened my eyes I was excited I could not feel anything but joy. I asked to check the ball so it's on right. I am reall y paranoid of jewellery falling out. He couldn't really get a grip on the jewellery so up went these little scissors with flat ends in nose and he tightened it. I jumped up and told him numerous times thank you I could have gave him a big hug I was happy I couldn't stop staring at my reflection in the mirror walls on the way out to the front of the studio while he cleaned up. He handed me a aftercare sheet and I went and paid him. He is so great and talented too. I wouldn't go to anyone else for my piercings.

I've just come home now from my piercing and im writing this to help others considering getting there nose pierced. It helped me a whole lot reading about others experiences so I felt I needed to contribute. Don't let the few seconds of pain stop you I can truly say that it will be worth it when you see the result sitting on the side of your nose. If you have any questions just email me at alycebrazier@bigpond.com id be very happy to help you out, I plan for a whole lot more. If you live in Brisbane please go to tower tattooing and body piercing and ask for Jeremy they are truly the best place i've seen and been to but don't take my word for it go and see for yourself, Thanks guys for reading my crappy experience.

Take care and happy piercings.
