For quite a while I had wanted to get my nostrils done, but I did not just want them pierced due to the fact that I wanted to start off with either a 0 or 00 gauge hole. For a long time I have loved large gauge nostrils from pictures I had seen. People on BME and people from a tribe somewhere in India I believe where the women do large gauge nostrils. So the only way for me to start of at this size was getting them dermal punched at, or close to, the size I wanted. Eventually I hope to have them at ½ inch or larger. So when I decided I wanted it done for sure I told myself I would think about it for a few months.

A few months passed and I was living up in Portland, Oregon, now I was ready to get my nostrils done. One day when I was at a shop talking to my friend Jason I asked him if he would be willing to dermal punch my nostrils at the size I wanted, too bad he said he was not really comfortable doing large procedures like that. Though this is probably a good thing seeing as I would rather have my nostrils done by someone who is completely comfortable with doing them. What Jason did do for me was put me in contact with his friend Dana here in Portland, so I contacted Dana about getting them done and he told me to come in so he could check out my nostrils.

The next day I went in to his shop and he sat me down asking what exactly I wanted to do, I told him I wanted them punched at 2 or 0 gauge and stretched right away up one size. He told me the best way for me to do this, seeing that my nostrils would be tricky to get the right angle with, would be to punch them at 2 and stretch them to 0. So when that was done we went outside to have a cigarette and he asked me when I wanted to get them done. I asked him if the next day would be fine and he told me sure so we were set.

When I am going to have something done I like to find out when I am doing it exactly just before I do it. This way I do not build up to much stress over the event, so having an appointment for the next day was perfect. I did get a little bit nervous in the meantime, but not terribly so. I expected this to be a pretty intense procedure so obviously I was getting somewhat nervous about it.

So 7:30 p.m. rolls around the day of my appointment and I show up at the shop where Dana is working and we sit around for a little bit talking; waiting for the shop to close at 8:00. At 8:00 we start setting everything up and marking my nostrils for the punch. Now I lay day and my heart is beating faster then I would like. I start taking my deep breaths in and out preparing myself, and then I lie down on the table.

One deep breathe in, and slowly exhale, crunch. I feel a little bit of blood on my face as he slides the dermal punch out and pushes the six-inch taper though quickly followed by the Jewelry. I take a look in the mirror and I love it, there is not even that much blood. Another deep breathe in, and slowly exhale, crunch. I feel a little bit more blood as the dermal punch slides out and the taper goes through, once again quickly followed by the jewelry. That was much easier then I had expected so I sit up that a big grin on my face. Now Dana cleans the blood off and puts the o-rings on. That fast and we are done with the procedure. Dana did a wonderful job, and I will definitely be getting more work done by him.

Now it is time for the after-procedure cigarette, which I love so much. 15 minutes of talking on the deck about this and that and now I am on my way still carrying that huge grin on my face. It has been about three weeks since the procedure and they feel great. I do sea salt soaks every day and I wash them with soap in the shower, they really are not hard to take care of. Now I am just excited to stretch them up a size because my future goal is to be around ½ inch. I know that many people who have stretched their nostrils large started off with a small piercing size and stretched over time to the size they are at now. I must admit I am a little bit less patient and I did not want to spend 7 years stretch my nostrils, I also did not want my nostrils to become extremely thick from the amount of tissue displacement. So having them done at this size was the right way for me to go about it. For anyone wanting large gauge nostrils you can really do about it in ways other t hen dermal punching, if you do not mind taking the time to stretch. For those of you who want to have them punched, go for it; the procedure was not extremely intense and now I have nostrils that I love. Good Luck.
