I have wanted to get my nose pierced for about a year but my mom kept telling me that she did not know if I could get it. Since I decided that this is what I wanted when I was 14 she had plenty of time to make up her mind, of whether or not I could get it done since you have to be 15 with a parent here. About a month before my birthday, which is in August she decided that I could get it done as long as it was a small stud. That was cool though since that is what I had planned on getting anyways. I finished looking up my research on BME and saved a whole bunch of stuff on my Internet folder thing. My mom said I could get it done on my birthday so I had my calendar marked from the beginning of August until my birthday finally came. I had to wait until my dad got home because he was the one who was going to take me but of course my mom was coming with to. I was really excited and finally they both got home from work. Then my boyfriend came over because he was coming to. I coul dn't wait to go so I put on my shoes and went right out to the truck.

I was not too nervous or anything, mostly just excited until I saw the studio. Then I was like, maybe we should turn back but that was not really what I wanted. So we all got out of the truck and walked over the studio.
I got inside and I showed the guy my school id, birth certificate, and my mom showed him her driver's license. He excepted my id with no problem and told me that I would have to wait a few minutes because the guy was going to pierce me was busy with someone else at the moment. So I looked at the jewelry that was in the glass cases and I looked at the fairy and dragon sculptures that they had for sale. I guess looking around and keeping my mind of the piercing kind of calmed me down because I have to admit that I was a bit nervous waiting there to get a whole in my face.
Then the guy came out and told me that he was ready for me and I asked him if my mom and boyfriend could come since my dad wanted to stay out in the waiting room or whatever you want to call it. He said that of course they could come so he led us all back to the piercing room.
Here is where the fun begins! He told me to take a seat on the doctor type bed so I sat down there. He cleaned up my nose, inside and outs and then he wiped off the cleaning stuff. He showed me the jewelry that I had to choose from. I didn't really want a plain dome so I paid five dollars extra to get one with a gem. Then after he was done with that he took out all of his tools and everything was sterilized and in separate bags. I felt a lot better seeing that everything was clean. He marked my nose and told me to go look in the mirror and see if I like the spot. I was thinking of something a little more over so he remarked it and I liked the new spot. My mom looked at the spot and said it was a good spot, then she turned around because she thought she was going to die or something if she saw the needle. So she stayed turned the other way until he was done. My boyfriend watched him though because he is not a scaredy cat like my mom.
He had me lay down and put the receiving tube up my nose so I did not get a septum piercing as well and then he told me to take a deep breath and when I breathe out he is going to put the needle through. So I breathed in and when I breathed out the needle went through. Don't be fooled by those people who say it doesn't hurt because yes it does! The good thing about the pain though is that it is gone as soon as the needle is through. So the pain only lasts for like two seconds!
After the two seconds it is great! He took out the needle and put the screw in. That took a little bit but I didn't feel any pain while he was doing that. Then he said he was done and he told me that I could get up now and wipe the tears off of my right eye because I got my right nostril pierced. Whatever nostril you get pierced, that eye will water to because it is just a reaction or something. I looked in the mirror and fell in love. It was a little red but there was no swelling or bleeding at all. After about a half-hour the redness went away so we went to pizza hut so I could show off my new piercing! It was great and I liked the pizza!
If you are going to get your nose pierced make sure that you use antibacterial soap on it at least twice a day and use the sea salt soaks because they help a lot. Your nose will start itching because it does that when it is healing and the sea salt helps it with that. I would definitely tell everyone who is thinking about getting this piercing, think no more and just go out and get it because in the end it will be totally worth just as long as you are sure that you like the spot where your jewelry is going to go. Go do it!
