Hey BME! I'm back! Well, here's the story of my nostril!

My friend used to come to school with a little glitter sticker on her nose and I always admired how it looked. I started to think about how it would look on my face. I asked around and everyone said I should go for it. When I turn to the side my nose points up, but when you look at me straight on, it isn't as noticable. All my life I've been told that I have a cute nose, so I thought what better way to make it look nicer than to add some jewelry to it. So that was it, I was determined to get it done. I fell in love with BME when I was researching to get my Vert Hood done, so I immediately came here to read experiences and look at pictures. I talked it over with my parents and of course they didn't want me to get it done, but I was still determined to get it. So, I went to my usual piercer and asked him about costs and what kind of jewelry he would pierce it with. Now, right off the bat I decided I didn't want a ring, and I wanted a tiny stud. My piercer told me he used regular earring studs. I know, you're thinking what! no no no! But, I went out in town and looked around and found these earring studs with longer than normal posts. I showed them to my piercer and he said this was perfect because they happened to be the same kind he uses. I saved an extra $20 by getting my own jewelry, so this is why I went out to look on my own.
So, next thing I know, I'm sitting in the oh so famous doctor chair thing. He puts everything ::cleaned:: on the tray and begins to prep my nose. It took me a while to decide which side I wanted, but I chose the right. He cleaned it off with some reddish brown stuff and then some clear stuff inside and out. He dried it off, which was weird because he shoved it up my nose like I had a nose bleed! He marked two spots and asked me to pick one. Now I had an original spot in my mind that I wanted, but when I saw his spots I decided they looked good too and chose one. ::Go with your gut people!:: He put the recieving tube up my nose and told me to close my eyes, try and stay still, and concentrate on my breathing. Next thing I feel is a tiny tiny pinch, him fumbling with the bottom and it was done! I hopped up to look in the mirror and I liked it, except that I thought it was a little low. He told me how to clean it and I left happy and was on my way. Everyone said it looked nice, but I still was unsure about the placement.
The biggest problem was work. I am not supposed to have visible facial piercings, but I figured it was so small it would be okay. Nobody said nothing to me, except my parents. They didn't like it but didn't make too big of a deal about it. After only three days I decided to take it out and get it redone after I quit my job and right before I go to college (this takes care of the parents, I'm not in your house, so you can't say nothing!). I took it out early so I wouldn't have a scar or no mark left behind.
Fast forward three months and I'm back in the doctors chair thing. This time I had the apprentice do it. However, I don't think he's still an apprentice because usually they ask first and he didn't ask or nothing, he just got everything set up. So in my head I'm like, umm, what is he doing? But I figured he'd do well since he's been there for years and years. Same procedure except that when he marked it, I made sure I liked it. This time it hurt a little more and bled more, probably because it was higher and my cartalidge was thicker.
I've had it three months now and absolutely love it! Everyone says it looks really nice and that it suits me. My parents like how this one looks better too. I've had no trouble healing and no pain at all. Although I don't promote using earring studs, I do feel it is okay as long as it is quality material and long enough to go completely through the skin. Good luck!
