First off, my name is Jonathan, and I'm a body mod enthusiast and partake in such activity on a monthly basis. I currently reside in a small, working class, narrow-minded town called Miramichi, and I am very much the outcast. I currently have 11 piercings. They are as follow: Septum (4 gauge) Tongue (8 gauge) Nipples, Both Nostrils, Bridge, Lip, Medusa, and PA. I plan on becoming a professional piercer later in life, perhaps start a business or something. The following story is about my septum piercing experience!

My septum was a virgin, and I had longed for a hoop there for years, so one day I approached my body artist, Dick, and brought it up. He thought it was a great idea, and thought I had the perfect facial structure for the particular piercing. The nervousness was a little intense, I found that to be the worst and best part of the entire process. I like knowing there's going to be pain, that beautiful anticipation theory. And it also felt really nice to hear Dick say "Septum, Is, Pierced." Ahhh... That was the exact little moment when I fully knew what and where I wanted to go with my life. I really enjoy being pierced, and I hope to do it on a regular basis in the near future. It's a feeling nothing else can give you, at the time, and afterwards. The initial piercing went quite fine, it's when I started to long for it to be stretched when pain arrived. I went to a jewellery dealer, and, unwisely, stretched my septum manually, not with a taper, but with the jewellery itself. To do this, I had to embrace one side of the septum with one finger, and full-on cram that thing through my nose! Let's just say... It hurt.I jumped from a 14 to an 8. Directly after the stretching, my nose started to release orang-ish goo and it scared me, quite frankly, but everything turned out perfectly in the end. The septum has had everything from batteries to q-tips in it, and there's no stopping me.

As the septum stretched, I could feel it's tightness in my nose. There's something about stretching a piercing that makes me feel really good inside, I think it may have something to do with the control factor over my body, mind over matter, pain is not important, product is. Product over pain.

You'd think my pretty story would be over now, right? Well, it's not. Later in the year last year, I decided to stretch my septum again, this time from 8 to 4 gauge. No blood, no mess, no problems. There was slight pain but nothing to get worked up over. I was almost worried that my septum would rip out if I stretched it too quickly! Not cool. ( I saw a dude on your site with which this happened to, and it looked very very unpleasant.) But the discharge was a small price to pay for the beautiful stretched piercing I have now.

Now that my septum is a 4 gauge, I plan on stretching it even more and finding myself some very nice metal jewellery.

The pain of a septum piercing is a pain like no other, not worse, but better. It's a good feeling pain. I was standing up when I got my septum pierced, and my knees buckled. It almost felt like I was floating up and out of my body, above and beyond. I felt a true-ness and purity to it, something that made me feel just a little tiny bit more complete.

I've noticed many people don't take it very well, septum piercings I mean. They figure it has something to do with Satan worship, or something negative. It's viewed in such a negative tone these days, all piercings in general, and it sickens me.

The aftercare department was quite simple and basic. Basically, you treat stretchings like brand new piercings. It's the safest thing to do, especially since infection is a bitch and it hurts. A lot! A little ear care solution and some hand disinfectant soap and we're off for the day, no problems.

Just to fill my last little bit of space, I've had my septum ring yanked on by people who hate me for my appearance on several occasions, that thing is just not coming out! I make jokes about it constantly. It's hilarious to see someone's reaction when you don't give off one. I think it pisses people off the most when you look, smile, fully aware that the person is being a major dick, and walk away. Awesome. No words even need to be spoken. So, thank you for being my friends and listening to my silly hole-in-body stories! Thanks a nutt-load, have a good one,

Jonisaflame.
