Well my day started out as follows, I went to go pick up my friend Blue and he was going to come out with me, as I had a few things to take care of. I stopped into my normal Tattoo/Piercing shop to say howdy to everyone. I was thinking to myself about how long I had wanted to get my septum pierced and the only thing holding me back was I was afraid it would hurt. Well being as i already 15 other piercings you would think I wouldn't mind another prick.

I went and opened my BIG mouth, and said "I think I want to pierce my septum". So Blue starts making fun of me, "Just do it, Pussy PUSSY" and so on continueing his abuse by saying "just fill out the paper" I thought to myself How bad could this possibly be!? I said "FINE, Spanky, give me the damn paper". So I filled it out. Being as I have been there countless times before, everyone there knows me by my first name, and they all visit me at work, I only had to print my name and say NO to all those disease questions, and sign my name, Instead of having to show my ID and all that silly crap. Ok Lets do this, I asked Blue "Would you like to watch me get poked?" He politely declines, reasoning "This is between you and your piercer." I said "Ok then, lets get this over with!"
*Here come the jitters* So we walk into his room and he starts preparing. Taking out the needle, the jewelry, the clamp and what ever else he needed to do the piercing. I was starting to get nervous. I was really worried, and only because everyone I knew who had thier septum pierced said it was thier most painful piercing. I even had people tell me it was worse than the nipple piercings. The whole time I was thinking to myself this is just a lil piece of skin how could this possibly be as bad as these people are making it out to be!!? I started asking questins to my piercer, since I figured he could give me a heads up on how bad it will be, since hes got a 4 gauge in his septum. He said I have never had someone come in here and get a septum ring and afterwards say ouch that hurt, well that made me feel better for the moment.
He starts getting ready now... I have this thing when Im about to get pierced, I dont know why it happens but when its an above the neck piercing my head shakes even if its just a pen coming near me. And Spanky always gets a kick out of this. So he put that funny looking clamp on me, and Im really nervous now. I start say "Oh my god, Oh my god" So he looks at me and basicly told to shut up, and said "This is not going to be quick, I dont want to poke you on the other side of the nose" as the needles getting closer, I start to cringe. Trying to sit super still, And he gets the needle right there so I can feel it, and asks if Im ready. "Ready as Ill ever be" by this point I just wanted to get this over with. And he pushes it threw... The pain, felt like a cold sharp pain and then it was over, and now its time to put the jewelry in, the pain of the piercing and the jewelry going in was pretty much the same, if not a little bit worse. It did make my eye water up, but it was sooo not as bad as I thought it was gonna be.
The healing process im still going through, the only bad part is if you move it around and its got some crust on it, which is normal with any new piercing, You can definitely feel it. To clean it all I used was some antibacterial soap and a q-tip. I try to keep it flipped up most of the time. I also love having it flipped up and seeing someone who doesn't know I have it, and then digging around in my nose going "Look at my new piercing" I love the look on thier face. Its priceless. I Only am keeping it up until it's done healing then I can buy a ring. For the time being I have a thing in my septum that looks like a staple. If you fiddle with it to much, you almost feel like you got hit in the nose, but 5 minutes later you forget its there again.
Im so glad I did it, I love my new septum ring. I did take out my nostril ring shorty afterwards. Only because it was hard to fit my finger up there, I was having trouble picking my nose. With all that metal shit hanging out. But If you are thinking about doing this, Do it, Its great.
