warning: this story contains an experience about a self piercing. Disclaimer is at the 2nd to bottom paragraph. Please ... leave piercing to professionals.

It's April and the weather is starting to change. I work at this jewelry chain in the mall where I sell huge gold chains pieces and pierce ears (yeah ... with a gun ). But I get bored easily, and I'm the kind of person who changes their appearance with the weather, always something different, whether it be changing my hair color/style, more tattoos or whatever. I had always fancied the idea of putting holes in my face, as my mother calls it, but never really had the chance ... with no money and jobs that require me to have no facial piercing or visible tattoos. So I figure the most thing I would be able to do as of this time, would be to get my nosed pierced.

Now the way I planned it, I would go into a piercing shop and get my nose done professionally with a needle in a clean environment. But my job doesn't pay much, so me being dead broke, took it upon myself ... to pierce my nostril myself. Since at my work we had piercing guns and earrings, I believe they were around a 24 g with the end of it being a needle, I borrowed (or stole if you will) one from work and took it home with me. Now the gun was too big to fit in my nostril, and I was too shaky to try and stick the gun in my nostril and shoot it through, I thought it would be better to push it in myself, so I shot the earring out of the package and cleaned it. I cleaned my nose as best I could and then whipping it down with the cleansing pads that I also took from work.

I took the earring and basically shoved it through my nostril as hard and fast as I could, thus it making a huge popping sound. Now... I don't know if this has anything to do with it ... but I hadn't eaten all day ... so I started to feel real dizzy and nauseous, a feeling which isn't usual when I so these sorts of things. So I got worried and quickly tried to pull the earring out of my nostril, which I thought was grosser than putting it in.. seeming how my skin seemed to sort of swell around the post and want to stick to it as I pulled it out. Now the next day it had already healed over and everything, but I was still set on having a nose ring. I waited about two days to try this again, except I figured I would torture the other nostril instead. haha.

Still having the original ring from my first experience i again i clean it and my nose as best i could, whipping it down with pads from work again i pushed it through my nostril, this time for some reason it seemed a lot easier than the last, going a lot smoothly, i cleaned it and when to bed. i woke up in the morning and it was still intact, usually when i sleep i move around so i was afraid it was going to fall out. I kept this earring in my nose for a couple days, but the earring I had used to pierce my nose, the stud part, I thought was too big so I wanted to change it. Now I was told I shouldn't change it for a while to let it heal. But me being an impatient little bastard I went and bought a nose stud, took out the one I pierced it with and put in a new nose stud, which I'm sure as hell irritated my nose. After a while it started to heal nicely and I liked my new nose ring a bunch, and luckily, it was accepted by my boss, and I got to kept it at work.

Unfortunately... I no longer have the nose piercing I went all that trouble to have. One night while I was sleeping, I must have snagged my nose ring on my blanket and pulled it out halfway, when I woke up in the morning I could not get the end of my nose ring back through the hole. Not really wanting to try and pierce my nostril a third time, I decided the best thing would be to take it out and just let it heal.

All in all, it was not a good idea doing what I did, seeing on how I had basically no idea what I was doing, didn't have the right instruments and didn't used gloves, I could have caused myself major infection. I severely advise that no one do this, Piercing should be left to professionals, people who are trained and go to school to do this. If you have no idea what your doing you could seriously injure yourself. You didn't wanna spend a few bucks ... and now you have a ton of medical bills to pay because you messed yourself up. Don't try this at home.

Do I regret ever doing it? Not at all. Everything you do in life is an experience, And you learn from each experience, this is just another lesson in life.
