I have always been interested in piercing ever since I got my ears done when I was twelve. My parents are real assholes and I was real surprised when they let me get my ears pierced. I had planned on getting more when I turned 18 and when I did that's just what I did. I had talked about different piercing and seeing that I would have to hide it from my parents or find my own place to sleep. Not only would a visible piercing get me guff from my parents but I work at a "job" that strongly says, "no visual piercing."

I didn't want to get a piercing that you would see at the mall so the tongue and the nipples was x'ed out. After talking to people who had a septum piercing I decided to get mine done. I could wear a retainer and flip it up at work and when the parents were around it was perfect.
A week after I had graduated from high school I was sitting over at Aaron a friend's house and just out of the blue I just spurted. "Hey I am going to go get my septum done." I decided on going to Acme Ink a local tattoo shop. I had only heard good things about Acme and everyone told me to go there to get my piercing. So Aaron and me loaded into my little car and off we went to Acme. It was a little nerve wracking on the way their I kept thinking its not going to hurt/its going to hurt. I had worked my self up and when we got there I had to pee so we walked down the road someway and found an alley where I could do my thing. The alley must have been used before by nervous ready to be pierced people like myself because a funny sign read. "Do not pee here. This means you!" I looked around and peed anyways. After I was done we made our way back to the shop and the piercer Brad introduced himself to me. He sat me down and told me what all the tool's he was going to be using was going to do. I told him about my parents and my job and told him to put it where I could hide it. For the record my nose isn't your normal nose. My nose it big and bony with little skin for piercing. After washing out my nose really good he marked it on the cartilage. Now I was really nervous, before I was worried about it hurting when it went through the little skin not I was thinking about how it was going to feel going through the bone of my nose. After some thinking I decided hell I have came all this way I am not going to chicken shit out now. I laid my head back and he used an acceptor tube and a needle no forceps thank god. He lined up the needle and the tube and told me to start breathing in and out. My friend Aaron said he lined them up and then said all right and looked up at Aaron with a big smile on his face and pushed the needle through my cartridge. It really didn't hurt it just felt like a pinch and then a lot of pressure. My eyes watere d up real bad and I though it was all over and done with and stood up and whipped my eyes. I looked over in the mirror and saw that I still had the piercing needle through my nose. I had to lay back down and he explained to me this is when it might hurt. It seemed like one quick movement he removed the needle and placed my retainer in place. It was finally done. He told me if I flexed my face muscles that the retainer would go up easier and he pushed up for me.

Being obsessive compulsive I washed the shit out of which could be good and bad at the same time. I washed my nose raw and made it even more painful than the piercing. After backing off the washing 3 or 4 weeks later my nose was completely healed. I waited a couple of months and stretched it up to a 10. I waited another 6 months and stretched it to a 8. I stopped stretching it at a 8, 8 seems like a nice place to stop.

I would recommend the septum piercing for anyone who wants a piercing but has to hide whether it be parents or their boss. A year later and I have talked Aaron and another friend into getting their septum done or as we call it "joining the bull club."
