My experience getting my nose pierced was a painful and bloody one. I had a friend, Brandon, who told me he had his apprenticeship for a little while and had done a bunch of people with no complaints, so I figured I'd let him pierce me. And when I say let I mean it, let me tell you he spent weeks and weeks begging me to let him pierce me. So I finally said yes and we sat down that night and figured the best thing for me would be to get me nostril pierced. We decided to have it a little farther back so I could only were studs in it. I have had other things pierced before (my eyebrow was pierced a long time ago, my belly button still in and I have my ears stretched) but for some reason I was very nervous about getting my nose pierced.

Brandon and I arrived at the "studio", it was actually a house, don't start judging me like I got pierced at some dirty house in the ghetto or something. It was actually regular house that was turned into a studio, the living room was were they sold body jewelry, the kitchen was used to pierce in, and I think a few rooms that were meant to be used as bedrooms were also used to pierce in. Trust me, if I didn't feel comfortable in the situation I would not of been there especially to get a foreign object shoved through me face. The room that I was pierced in was the kitchen. There were not many people around only Jimmy the owner of the "studio", and only one other piercer was working that night.

So I went to the studio with him, another piercer, I'm not sure of his name so lets call him Joe, was standing by incase he needed any help, being that Brandon was still and amateur, but at that point Joe was just holding my hand (like I said I was nervous). The actual piercing wasn't that bad Brandon drew a little dot on my nose in the spot that we had discussed earlier, then he cleaned me up, pushed that little pipe looking thingy (as you can tell I do not know the technical terms) up to my nose, and then pushed the needle through. It hurt, but not as much as I expected it to, no problem. I felt very tuff at that point.

It was all fine and good until the jewelry had to go in, as I said we decided to put a stud in. And as I'm sure most of you know studs are very hard to put in because they cork screw (of course, I didn't know this at the time). Brandon had a horrible time getting the jewelry in. At this point I had a feeling that he didn't know what he was doing because he was yanking the jewelry all around which was very painful to my freshly pierced nose. After a little while or this I was bleeding, I was in pain, and I was crying (no longer as tuff as I thought I was). Brandon, being my friend, couldn't stand to be the one to put me through all this pain and be the one to make me cry, so he backed off and Joe, who at this point was loosing circulation in his hand from me squeezing the shit out of it, stepped in to finish me off. Well after all the time it took for Joe to get cleaned up and put his gloves on my hole was starting to close, so he had to re-pierce me with a slightly bigger ga uged needle, so that it would to re-open the hole and to make it easier to get the jewelry through he told me, let me tell you this was a horrible experience for me tender poor little nose after all the prodding and pulling I was subjected to earlier. So finally after a few more tries and a little bit crying on my part, the jewelry was finally in. The boys who pierced me wiped my blooded away, I dried my eyes, then Joe offered me a Free-Zee pop, I wasn't in the mood for a Popsicle after that experience but he said I had to, to replace my blood sugar. Then it was picture time! I'm sure it was a beautiful sight with me red-faced from crying, and my mascara bleeding.

On the way home from this ordeal Brandon revealed to me that I was his first time piercing a nose, I told him I could tell. Then he laughed and said that it was his first time piercing a face, so I asked what he has pierced. And he tells me that he had only done a few ears before this. I was a little up set to say the least. This is defiantly something you need to tell someone before you put their face in your hands. So I guess the lessoned I learned was to add, "Have you ever done this piercing before?" the list of questions I ask when I get something pierced.
