For a couple of years, I've wanted to get body piercings. Since I'm only 14, I can't get very many. My parents have always said no to all body piercings, except standard lobes, I can't even stretch my lobes, not even a little. I didn't think there was a chance of me getting any piercings, until I'm 18, but I still always ask.

I was talking to her about this, and she mentioned that she's considering getting her nose pierced. With this, I jumped at the fact that there might be a chance I could get mine done! My parents were to be going to London, where the piercing studio is, so I said she should get it done...and that I should get it done with her! After a lot of basically begging, my mom finally said maybe. I took this as a yes, because it would be cruel for her to say no, after she implied that there may be a chance, since I've wanted piercings for so long, and she wouldn't be like that. After 3 weeks of asking plenty, she finally said yes, in her own little ways, without actually saying the word yes. So we called up Blue Dragon a week before we were to be going to London. They said we could just walk in, that we didn't have to make an appointment. For the week after that, I was very giddy, telling all my friends that I was finally getting a piercing! None of my friends cared that much, because none of them are interested in piercings, this is my own thing I guess. I started to get nervous around Thursday, and I couldn't wait until Saturday.
Then the day finally came...Saturday, November 3...the day I was to get my first piercing, other than my standard gunned lobes. My mom and I left for the hour-long ride to London, to Blue Dragon Tattoo and Body Piercing Studio. When we got there, we went in and told the manager what I wanted. He assumed I wasn't 18, but didn't ask exactly how old I am, considering I look older than I am, which is 14. The manager gave up a sheet to sign, and charged us $37.45 Canadian. He then sent us to sit in the waiting area. I sat there, while my mom looked at all the tattoos on the wall. I only waited about 5 minutes, when the piercer, Ben, came out and directed me into the piercing room. Ben is really cute, but that's beside the point. I sat in a black chair, and Ben started getting the stuff ready. By this point I was pretty nervous, my legs were shaking a lot. He told me what he was going to do, and showed me the nostril screw and everything. He then cleaned my nose, and dotte d the point. He made sure it was exactly where I wanted it. He then told me to relax, and tried to get my to stop shaking my legs, hehe. Then, he told me to close my eyes, take a deep breath in, and he stuck the needle through my nostril. To my surprise, it didn't really hurt! I was pretty sure this was going to be painful, but it wasn't. He took out the needle, and followed it through with the nostril screw. He gave me something to put pressure on the piercing, and to soak up the blood, while he explained how to clean the piercing. He told me to use Bactine, and I have still to ask the great people from the Bolt Piercing Board whether or not I should be using this (I cant remember, for I never had a reason to!). Ben told me to clean it 2-3 times a day (I'll stick to 2, so I don't dry it out or anything), and told me not to stick an ear stud or anything not meant for nose piercings in my nose, but of course, I already knew this...but a lot of people don't. He then t old me not to be drinking that night, and no drugs, but if I really wa nted to, weed was the only thing he recommended doing that night, and not to snort things, and no other drugs for at least a month. At some point my mom mentioned my age, and Ben said the manager must have been in a good mood today, because usually he doesn't let anyone under 15 get pierced. A girl in my grade recently got her navel pierced there, and there's no way she looks 15. She hasn't gone through puberty yet (she hasn't gotten her period, or started developing if you know what I mean), so I don't think they should have pierced her, as her piercing might migrate when she starts growing more. But anyways, I should hope they start asking people their ages before they pierce them.
Ben gave me a sheet of paper, telling my how to clean it, how long it takes to heal the piercings, and things like that. I then thanked Ben, and he told me to call him if I ever have any questions. We were then on our way, less than half an hour after we got there. I can't wait until my mom lets me get more piercings...but I don't think that will happen any time soon!
