Aight heres my septum experience.
I had decided that i wanted my septum pierced quite a while ago, after seeing someone with their's pierced and being struck with awe. So I told myself that i would get it done when i got my braces off, to celebrate getting the bastards off. So i waited and waited as my orthodontist kept prolonging my braces, and i was getting more and more anxious to get my septum done, so i made my appointment for next week at the closest piercing place. My first mistake.

The week seemed to take aaages, and then the day finally arrived. But that morning my ortho decided to keep my braces on longer. Spewing. Oh well, kept my appointment any ways, went and picked up my friend and brought him with me. I waited while the piercer finished with other clients, getting pretty excited. Then she called me in to her room, after cleaning and stuff, and laid me on the bench thingo. She asked about placement, and i told her what i wanted. So she marked it with a pen, and tried to show me the marks with a mirror, but i couldn't see them for shit, so i said yeah that's about right.

Now came the scary bit, i waited a bit longer while she did some other stuff, and the she came over and tried to work out how she could hold my head while she pierced me. "This means she's never done a septum before!!" i thought to my self, and began to get really nervous. I just wanted it through with, so i just layed there.

She put the clamps on, which were a little bit uncomfortable, told me to breathe deep. and then FUCK!! i felt the needle go all the way through, rather slowly, and 'pop' out the other side. She pushed the jewelry in, which i brought with me, which i now know is dodgey. And then i hear "Damn! It's crooked! shit shit shit!". and there she stood, staring at my nose hand over her mouth, shaking her head. Great.

I looked in the mirror, and saw that it was indeed crooked, with the right side more towards my face, and up inside my nose, and the left towards the tip of my nose and right down, through where the septum gets thick. And it stung. She told me i could get i done again, there and then. I was still pretty happy just to have a ring in my septum, so i chose to keep it, so she told me i could come back and get it redone whenever. I said ok, got my friend, who had chickened out of watching, and went out and partied.

About four days later it still stung like it had after it had just been pierced, it was very difficult to move, and looked horrible. So i reluctantly rang up, made another appointment, mistake number 2, and painfully slid the ring out.

My appointment came, and went, cos i slept in, so i went in the afternoon, waited for some clients to leave, and it was my turn again. This time i chose a small barbell, which i use instead of a retainer, which she gave to me, for free. The whole proceedure was repeated, only this time the marking was more vigorous, and was done, and redone till she was happy. The clamps went up my nose, the needle was brought out, and then she told me, "OK this time im going to go slow, so i can get it straight". Hurrah.

Then is started. I felt every fraction of a millimetre. Tears were welling up in my eyes, and the store was filled with obscenities. After about ten seconds she said " ok im gonna give u a break. do some deep breathing". which i did, I breathed in through my mouth and out through my nose, and out sprayed a mist of blood, which covered my t-shirt, and her. Hehe. We started again, a bit quicker this time, and then the needle was through. I didnt notice a pop this time, and it stoppoed stinging after the needle was through. I looked in the mirror, and it appeared much straighter, which i was pretty happy about.

Ok, so now
its a few months later, and its still crooked, lower on the this time, but im not going back to the same place to get it redone. I can put up with it for now, and im thinking of getting in dermal punched at a lower gauge, to make it straight, and big!!

I hope this can be a lesson to some people. Research your piercer before u get pierced, or u can end up with painfull, crooked, horrible piercings!!
