Well lets see...one day..*Friday may 18, 2001* I drove past 252 tattoo and thought..Hey, I think I want my septum pierced today. So I went into the parlor in search of a pierce...the day before I had been in there getting a tribal ankh tattoo on my left fore arm so I figured it'd be no problem coming in for more work..As I was already a friendly face. I filled out the hubbub paper work and went into his little room 'o' stabbing and proceeded to sit in the chair. He started talking to me about how he is angry at septum piercings cause they bug him, he said every one hes done he just felt shitty about, like it was some big great nasty horrible experience he had to go thru. I asked him how long hes been doing piercings and he said like 6 years so i trusted him. He was telling me its a pretty hardcore piercing, all the while I was just relaxing and cooling out...he started rubbing my septum with two fingers and checking for my soft spot...he said I had a good nose for it.

Anyway after getting all his gear ready he started measuring my nose and marking it with dots for the stab hole, he told me to relax and let out some deep breaths and I did, then all at once I felt the needle go in from the right side, punch thru the middle and bust out the left. Damn! it was an intense experience! I was real happy it had been done.. I checked it out with the mirror and liked what I saw. He began to push it in more with the black retainer I chose..But here comes the complications of the ordeal.......it went into the right side fine and hurt a bit going in but I dealt..Then as the needle came out the jewelry separated from the needle while in my septum..it was stuck in the middle! He started working it thru real ruff with his thumb and it hurt like a bitch..but I could do nothing but sit still so he could fix the problem.

This went on for about an eternity it seemed, tears running out of my peepers and me clenching my teeth. Then it popped out the other side, it was in! But, we still had to get past the first bend in the retainer. I chose it because I work in a reasonably respectable medical shipping building, you know how it is, Anyway...my left side was totally inflamed and red and puffy and basically being a bitch. He let my nose get used to having it there and not trying so much to reject the 14g piece of titanium in my face. It was bleeding freely by now, it was really coming out like a fresh puncture...he must have been trying to get the bend thru my nose for 7 minutes straight...I swear it hurt so damn much. I think its because he was fucking around with it so long that the pain got more and more intense, but like I said I dealed with it. Then finally he says, "its in" and I bring the mirror up to see it all red and bloody hanging from my nose...my eyes were totally bloodshot and I felt like I got kicked in the face. I kinda just sat there and chilled for a while..You'd be surprised on how many nerves are in your nose.

He cleaned me up some and started talking about how if it wasn't straight he'd just do it again, im like, "The hell you are!!" I am not going thru that shit with you again! He said im not letting you walk out of here with a crooked piercing, which i understood and felt the same way about, but I was really not ready to deal with that kind of crap again. It turned out ok and im still in the healing process..hell it only happed three days ago..but I must say, I am very pleased with how it looks and I hope things keep going this well. It hurts a bit here and there and people keep smacking my nose!! Anyway if you ever think you might want to get your septum pierced I have to tell you..go for it, you'll love the results if your piercer isn't a total moron like mine was...turns out, he's my friends neighbor and he drinks a lot... but im not holding it against him..it may have not been his fault that my nose was being a bitch. but like I said folks, its an intense experience, and I love my piercing so much.
