Lip or tongue, lip or tongue? that's what has been going through my mind for the past month, I've wanted my tongue done for a much longer time but I was deciding between lip and tongue.

So for the longest time I've been thinking of getting my tongue pierced, my mom totally didn't agree and that's why I hadn't gotten it yet, but I thought, why not just go for it right? Right. Then my friend keeps telling me not to get it done because he heard of a girl that got her tongue pierced and had brain damage done, he was more worried than my mom, and more excited then me to get it done even though he was worried.

So, we went upto Regina Saskatchewan yesterday, to a little store called 360 in the Golden Mile Mall. I filled out the sheet for the piercer, she finished the piercing she was working on, and then she came out, took my I.D filled out the part of the paper she needed to fill out. She said to me "tongue? there have been 7 tongue piercings today, I guess everyone wants a swollen tongue this weekend."

When we got into the room she told me that only one tongue went bad on that day because the girl pulled her tongue back into her mouth and I believe it went in crooked.

So then I rinsed out my mouth, she told me what would happen within the next three weeks, etc. I sat down in the chair she told me to sit in, and she then told me that I had a nice tongue and it was going to be easy to pierce. She told me then that she was going to put the clamp on my tongue, she then proceeded to tell me that she just had to look for the vain before she could pierce it, so I sat their patiently and then she tells me "okay, we're done."

I replied "done... looking for the vain?" she said "no, the piercing is all done." I did not feel one thing, and it took a matter of 3 seconds. So I sat there with the needle in my tongue as she got the barbell ready. Putting the barbell in hurt seeing as I thought getting the piercing would hurt, and everything else would be fine, totally the opposite. She told me not to play with it for the next three weeks but that's hard to do, I keep catching myself playing with it, it's just so intriging.

The barbell didn't hurt much though, once it was in she told me to go rinse again and to just keep it clean and there would be swelling.

My tongue, did not swell much, very little actually. I did not bleed either, my friend who went and got her tongue pierced bled, and her tongue swell up to the point she could barely talk, so I decided this is something to rub in her face. Eating is weird because I've got this extra thing in my mouth and when I try to eat I bite down on it, but I'm getting the hold of it. The top is fine and what not, but there is puss coming out of the bottom of it.

I also smoke, so everytime I'm done having a smoke I mouth wash, but it seemed today that the time that is swelled the most was when I wasn't smoking, everytime I have a smoke it pretty much goes back to the exact size it was before the piercing. I'm not sure that's how it is supposed to be but that's how it is and that's fine with me. I still rinse with mouth was everytime I finish having a smoke though, just to be on the safe side.

Then this morning my mom calls and asks me if I got my tongue pierced, I told her that yes, I did get my tongue pierced, she then tells me that she isn't very happy with what I have done and all that. Too bad though, because it's over and done with, and it's staying in my mouth.

It really doesn't hurt very much, and it is totally worth it. I'm completely happy with it and I couldn't be more glad that I got it. It's my favorite. When I got home I had to go and show people because they wanted to see, but that's okay, I totally don't mind showing it off! If there is anyone debating whether or not to do it, DO IT! There is no pain more promising then that of being pierced. No pain, no gain. That goes for everything I suppose. Next step is the horizontal tongue or venoms... yay. Totally go for it.
