Hello my name is Sean.
At A Glance Author Sean Contact Sean@bme.anon When It just happened Artist Nick Studio Nick's body piercing Location Portsmouth, United Kingdom I have several piercings including both tragus's, a 00 and 10 gauge and 3 cartilage in my left ear and a 4 and 10 gauge and 2 industrials in my right ear and also my eyebrow, lip and 2 centre tongue piercings. I am writing about my venoms which I just got pierced.
It all started in about December last year when I desperately wanted to have venoms so I hopped on down to Nick's body piercing which has done all my piercings except for my eyebrow and my first industrial. I trust him completely with my body he is an excellent piercer and also very friendly and professional. He always puts me at ease and he pierces at an amazingly quick speed so most of my piercings haven't hurt at all. So anyway I asked if I could get venoms and he studied my tongue and said no because I have 2 large veins running underneath my tongue. A tad disappointed, I decided that since I made the journey I may as well get something pierced, so I got two centre tongue piercings. They healed well and were crooked underneath and slightly crooked on top but I didn't really mind. They didn't hurt one bit.
So, two months later whilst I was studying my tongue and I reckoned that I could have tongue venoms; I decided to suggest it to Nick and say I wouldn't mind if they were pierced at an angle underneath towards the centre of my tongue or if I had to remove one or both my centre piercings. So once again I went to Nick's and enquired about it. He had another look and said he could do them if they were pierced at an angle. I was so pleased and decided to get them done the next day, Wednesday, 14th February. So at about 11 I went down there, I was really nervous because I read n BME that venoms really hurt. There was no queue so I signed a few forms and paid my £40 which, I think, is a real good price. So in I go, and Nick numbs my tongue with this horrid tasting numbing spray which made me drool all over the shop. I felt really embarrassed but Nick just laughed and said everyone did that, which made me feel a bit better. He then marked my tongue with this purple dye. I asked him if venoms hurt more than centre tongue piercings and he said no and I probably won't hardly feel the needles going through. He did the right side first which honestly I didn't feel at all. The left side hurt slightly more probably because I knew what was coming. After he screwed on the jewellery he gave me aftercare instructions which I already know all too well and told me to come back on Monday to get them resized.
I got my first proper look at them when I got home in the mirror, to my disappointment the right one seems slightly nearer to the centre piercings than the left one, but maybe it's the swelling that is distorting my tongue and hopefully they will even out as the swelling goes down. I think the fact that my centre piercings are slightly to the right anyway doesn't make matters any better so I am contemplating removing them once the swelling has gone down a bit. Also, I was slightly surprised because I thought he was going to pierce them towards the centre of my tongue, like I suggested but they were pierced almost straight down and still avoiding the veins. Amazing! When the numbness stopped, my tongue began to really hurt; I had to take some Ibuprofen to ease the pain, which seems to have helped quite a lot. A minute ago I ate some ice cream-it felt good to be able to eat something as I was starving!
I seem to be able to talk almost normally I just struggle on a few words, my housemates haven't noticed yet, I'm going to see how long it takes for them to tell! I reckon the swelling will increase later today and I won't be able to talk tomorrow!
Overall, I love my new piercings they look really cool and hopefully won't hurt or swell too much. I also hope that they even out because I will be slightly disappointed if I have to take the centre ones out.
I recommend anyone getting this piercing just go for it, it doesn't hurt at all. Also, I really recommend Nick's body piercing because he is such a great piercer and him and the other staff are really nice, helpful and chatty. I am looking forward to getting smaller bars put in next week!
Happy piercing and thanks for reading!
