When I decided to get my tongue pierced for the first time it was a spur of the moment type of thing I went into diversity near my home to price how much it would actually cost and ended up setting the appointment and getting it pierced that same day.
At A Glance Author anonymous When A year ago Studio Diversity Tattoo Location Las Vegas NV It was nothing like I have expected it to be I thought that it would be the most painful experience that I have ever gone through, I do not have a high tolerance for pain.
When I first arrived at the tattoo shop I was looking around to see what I wanted to have done, this was not exactly my first piercing at least a year before this I got my cartilage on my ear pierced and it wasn't painful at all. The young girl at the counter asked me what she could help me with and I told her that I had wanted to get my tongue pierced but wasn't sure what kind of barbell I wanted to start off with, she stated that I could only get the typical barbell when first getting my tongue pierced, so I went on ahead and choose the original style barbell and told her that I wanted to get it done that same day. She stated that the gentlemen that usually does the piercing wasn't in at the moment and that he would be back shortly she told me to go and get something to eat and try to relax and come back later.
I went to eat but was to excited to eat or relax. When I returned the guy that pierced my tongue was so nice to me he assured me that it wasn't going to be as bad as I was imagining it to be.
He instructed me to a sink to rinse my mouth out with mouthwash twice. He sanitized everything and he marked my tongue and made sure that it was where I wanted it to be. He positioned the clamp on my tongue and he gave me a napkin to catch any saliva, when he inserted the needle it didn't hurt at all it was a warm sensation it was all over before I knew it. My tongue didn't swell like most people say that there's does. For the first week it was very hard to eat my favorite foods, even though I was informed not to eat solid foods for a day I did anyway I was just extra careful.
I couldn't talk as much as I was use to because it hurt at certain points. I was told to buy mouthwash and to be sure to rinse my mouth out after I ate a few times I got my tongue ring stuck and was afraid that I was going to rip it out of my mouth I would have to say that after maybe about a month I got use to eating with it in my mouth I wasn't biting down on it as much as I was when I first got the piercing.
I had my tongue ring for less than a year when I encountered a car accident that busted my tongue ring and I ended up having to take it out. I waited a while before I got it pierced again maybe about a year later I decided that I missed my piercing so I went back to the same place to get it done again, this time I wasn't alone I took my older sister with me for support they did the usual all the things that they had done before. I was under the impression that it wouldn't hurt just like the last time, I guess I didn't take into consideration that I now had scare tissue in the original hole.
This time it was a woman that pierced my tongue she gave me a napkin and told me that it was to catch the saliva I told her that I didn't need it because I didn't need it the first time, so when she proceeded to pierce my tongue I immediately grabbed the napkin because this time was different. She informed me that I should not have any products with yeast in it which was new to me because I wasn't told that the first time. I tried my hardest to follow instructions this time around but when I got home my mom had cooked pasta so of course as hard headed as I am I ate it anyway. Through it all I have to say that I am satisfied with my experience and I love my tongue ring no matter what people say it was the best experience of my life. I would recommend that anyone seeking to get the piercing look up all the information and all the details before just jumping into it like I did. And follow the directions you are given or the healing process will be longer.
