I got my tongue pierced on November 18th, 2006, 1 day after my 18th birthday with my best friend Katie.

I had wanted my tongue pierced on and off since 8th grade. I first saw one of my older sisters friends with a tongue piercing and I thought it was so cool. If the older girls had it done, then it must be cool. Then once I hit 9th grade, somehow in biology class, tongue piercing came up and the teacher started talking about how if you get pierced on your tongue in the wrong place, you could bleed to death so I just thought, well forget that idea. But the past few years, reading more and more into piercing (being one of my passions), I have learned there is a slight risk but very rarely ever happens like that and the desire to get it pierced came back. I think all body mods are beautiful and some can be very sexy, this one in particular.

It took my parents 4 years to let me get my lip pierced so I figured there was no use in even asking their opinion on weather or not I should get it done so the day that I got pierced, I left the house leaving them with, "Well, I will either come back with a nose piercing or a tongue piercing....we will see." It was hilarious all my mom could do was roll her eyes, look up to the ceiling and say, "Please just get a nose stud."

I left the house with my boyfriend of 3 years to go pick up my buddy Katie so we could duel-pierce. She had wanted hers done for a long time to so I figured since I never get to see her, this would be a nice thing to do together.

So we three drove to Geneva to the Extreme Graphics out there, where I had gotten my lip pierced a year ago and where I will probably get every body mod I ever want done at. We walked up to the door and me and Katie were so anxious. We were so excited but there's always an excited but knotted feeling in my stomach before getting pierced. Because I know there is going to be at least slight pain involved, which I'm fine with cause I can handle pain, but I was just nervous because I wanted to know how it was going to hurt. Weather like a sting, a pinch, a sore, a cut? I did not know.

We walked in and P.P King was playing a kick ass song on his guitar and I highly recommend his CD. One of the guys came over and copied our id's, took our money, and told us it would be a few minutes for the jewelry to sanitize. Me and Katie were debating who should go first and she is such a light weight she made me go first, which I was fine with. Finally, Noah said it was all set to go so I said I was going to go first and walked my way up to the chair.

Sitting down, I looked at the stand he had with a needle, a stick with ink on it, and a clamp getting more and more anxious every second. He was good with making sure it was even which I really appreciated. It was quick as 1, 2, 3. He dried off my tongue, marked it, clamped, said breathe and poke! Went right through my tongue. It honestly felt just like I bit my tongue slightly and it just made my eyes water. The most uncomfortable part for me is always when they slide the jewelry in and the needle out. I don't know why but I just hate it. Then he told me how to take care of it and it was Katie's turn. When she was getting done I was just looking at my tongue in the mirror and all I could think was, "Damn! This looks hot! I love it!" I kept playing with it and Noah looked at me and said you need to resist the urge to play. I could not help it. It felt awesome to have it in there and since it was a fresh piercing, it was not sore yet and I was just playing with it left and right in my mouth.

Once Katie was done, we thanked Noah and left to go to a bar where my sister works. Playing pool, me and Katie tried to take our first sips of a drink. I did not realize it was going feel so weird to swallow with something on your tongue. You feel like your about to swallow it. And for the first week it was real hard to eat for me. Not because it hurt, even though it was rather swollen and slightly sore, but because since the bar is so long, I kept biting on it. I had to really concentrate while eating and put the food to the side of my mouth to avoid biting the bar. But it was well worth it!!!

I highly recommend this piercing if you are teetering on weather to get it done or not. It is mad hot and if you don't want people to see it you can be discrete and hide it. Its nice and sexy and beautiful and I am so glad I got it done!
