It was a Friday and nobody was home... I was just chatting on msn and I was pretty bored, my septum ball had just fallen off and this gave me the shits because I had only got it done two days ago. I rang up my piercing place and they wanted to know if I wanted an appointment so I thought why not, I had being thinking about getting my tongue web for quite awhile however I thought I would leave it to the holidays in case something went wrong. I had been doing so much research on the tongue webbing and I found that it wasn't a very common piercing which was done. My parents are very disapproving of piercing however my love for the art of piercing has got the better of me. I like unique and quite weird piercing because I don't like to follow the crowd. As I was searching the internet on tongue web piercing I discovered peoples stories about what went wrong and there was hardly any on the good part about tongue web piercing so this put me off a little but I still really wanted it done.

I made my way to the piercing place, I entered the door and told them who I was and signed the form saying I could have it some and I had no complications. I waited for about an hour because two guys were getting there eyebrows done. Finally they finished and Ms. T came out to get me. I was a little nervous but this was my 7 piercing so I wasn't too worried. Ms T discussed all the problems with this piercing like it's has a high chance of rejection etc...
The ring I chose was blue with black stripes and a bright blue looked really nice but it was pretty thick and I was advised that because of its thickness it had an ever greater chance of rejection. my tongue web was really far back so I had to push my whole tongue forward in order for her to get a needle thru but she still had her hands in my mouth, likely I had quite a nice web which was thick and easy to pierce. I really didn't feel much I mean of course I felt a little prick but it didn't hurt at all. After it was done Ms T had a talk to me about taking care of it, and reducing the risk of infection. After that I got Ms T to screw on my septum ball and she did a really good job and I also asked if she could do the other one just in case, likely I was friendly with her so I didn't get charged extra for my septum to get tightened
I walked off thinking how easy and pain-free that was, I was a bit scared to as if my speech was affected or not, because from my research I had found that many people told of how their speech was affected and they had to tell their parents what they had done. So I meet up with my mum for lunch and she had no idea. It's a wicked piercing to get I have had no problems with it and it hasn't got infected and I play with it all the time and it doesn't hurt at all. If my mother had have seen my piercing she would have most likely ripped it out. My folks are very disapproving of piercing and see no need for them. But piercing are very addictive, once you have one you can't stop.
The bonus with this piercing is that if want something which the old folks won't find out about I suggest this. It can't be seen while talking and after it's done your speech won't be impaired at all. Your pierces goes thru all the risks and complications with this piercing but if your piercer is good and trust worthy, get it done. I think to get this done your pierces will need experience in this area. Trust me you won't regret it.
But still take into consideration whether this piercing will suit you because some people have no tongue webs or very thin tongue webs which make them easier to grow out quicker.
It's been three weeks now and I'm moving on to my second week, I have had no problems and no infections or rejections. You must take good care of this piercing and mouthwash every time after you have eaten to ensure now food is stuck in your piercing. As long as you do that and brush as usual every thing is looking good. I'm so happy with my tongue web and I still get "why would you get that?" but it's not to impress others it's something for myself and something I would without a doubt do again.
