I haven't always wanted my tongue done, but at the beginning of last year I did. My father however did not so much like the idea and told me I couldn't although I had saved up the money myself by working hard. After I put on a pretty big strop about the whole thing, I decided for my 15th I was going to get my labret, so I did. Dad hated that.

Four days after in fact. I know dad won't be happy, but when he found out I had my septum done he didn't really do anything. Most likely because he knows he can't!
Septum was easy and fine to work with and keep clean. I was cool with that, if it had not been so easy I would have not gone through with my tongue piercing. Septum did hurt, but it was a short in and out pain, and only hurts to touch it.
My friend, Bee, had put up a little strop after finding out I was getting my tongue done as she had wanted it for ages. So we decided to get them done together, although her parents would almost definitely get angry when they found out.
My dad drove us to Hereford, having no actual idea of why we were going to Hereford. I had told him we were staying with my brother for the night there. We were staying with my brother, but that's because he lives there and we needed to be in Hereford for our appointment.
We went to Sirius and went to the back room. Malcolm, the piercer, talked us through the procedure so we knew "what we're getting ourselves in for" as Malcolm said.
Malcolm is a brilliant piercer. He's now done 5 of my piercings, and they're all great and none have been infected, (touch wood).
After that he asked us who was more scared, and Bee told him she was, so he told her she had to go first. She sat down on the chair after rinsing her mouth out with mouthwash, we prepared my video phone to film it all, and Malcolm clamped her tongue. He drew a dot where he was going to pierce it. As he asked her if she was ready he put the needle through, and she didn't even flinch! She didn't know it had gone in.
Then it was my turn, I did everything Bee did. However, with me, it hurt! Maybe because I had let my guard down and didn't think it was going to hurt very much. I couldn't wait to get my tongue back in my mouth, I couldn't talk though when I did. Bee could, perfectly!
On the way home I barely spoke as I was too scared I would tear something! We had soup that night and were very careful not to speak too much.
The day after that we went for a Smoothie for breakfast as we still couldn't eat. Soup for lunch, and for supper.
Bee's piercing bled quite a bit, but we went back to Malcolm that day and he said that's normal, she probably just caught it on her teeth or something, and she said that's what she did earlier. So all was good.
I've been filling up on hot chocolate and soup since, and today is my second day of having the bar in. I'm trying to eat proper food slowly and speak as I have to go to my dads Sunday and I don't want him to find out. Though, I guess, I'll have to tell him sometime.
Bee has yet to tell her parents. I wonder if they've found out yet.
The tongue bar is pretty big, and that's the main source of the uncomfortable feeling in your mouth. That's just because your tongue swells up. Malcolm said that after the first few days, once the swelling is down, we'll be able to see how big the bar is. I can't wait to change it. For school we have to get a clear one. We asked for a clear bar to be put in as soon as we had it pierced, the bar is pretty clear but the actual balls are silver. It's better though than if we'd just had a normal big silver bar put in. The piercing is quite far back as well and is only visible when we open our mouths wide enough or manage to stick our tongues out.
The first 24 hours were pretty bad, and I would not recommend it to anyone, but now the pain is going down along with the swelling, I'm real glad I got it and it looks awesome! Also, I was terrified of it tearing so I was barely moving at all. If you're like Bee, and don't worry about that sort of thing, you'll do fine.
