Everybody always told me that getting your tongue pierced twice hurts much more than getting it pierced the first time. Someone even told me that if you pierce your tongue twice the scar tissue of the previous piercing is going to come out along with the needle when you get it pierced again. It was their opinions but as for me it was not a problem. AT ALL! it didn't even hurt. The first time I got it pierced it didn't hurt. It just felt like a certain point of pressure going though your tongue, you can feel the needle going though but it just feels like pressure.
At A Glance Author Vissy Contact Vissy@bme.anon When A week ago Artist OJ Studio New Millenium Location sw 67th ave. & 40th street. Miami, FL I had my tongue pierced for the first time in January 06' and took it out 3 days before spring break. Finally it came around October and my boyfriend got his paycheck. We know the people personally in New Millennium (tattoo shop) and my boyfriend wanted to get his tongue pierced so I encouraged him the from the first time he mentioned it. He finally went and I watched him get his tongue pierced which made me want to get my tongue pierced again!! It took awhile for my mom to agree with it because she said that getting my tongue pierced again would lead me into "bad situations" in life. She already owed me $100 for helping out with some of her work and I told her that instead of giving me the $100 to go and take me to get my tongue pierced. She definitely agreed with that because she'd rather spend $40 than give me $100 to spend. but she always gave me excuses that she couldn't take me, so I didn't get it done. But we finally had an argument about it and it wasn't fair that she wont take me to get my tongue pierced OR give me the $100 that I was supposed to get for those days I missed school to go and help her out. My argument won and on that day we went to go get my form notarized and get my tongue pierced. I was really nervous because I've read stories of how it hurts much more if you get your tongue pierced again. But I knew that I wanted to get it and I waited 3 weeks previous from that argument. I finally met up with my boyfriend with my mom and went to the tattoo shop.
It was finally the time of truth and OJ gave me a small cup of Listerine, then that was over... He told me to sit down and stick out my tongue. He knew that this was going to be my second time getting it pierced so he looked at my tongue closely. He finally found a spot, squeezed the claps and pierced my tongue, again!! It felt like nothing! It actually felt pretty good when he pierced it. When I finally stuck my tongue back in my mouth I noticed that I felt the jewelry farther back in my tongue. I'm guessing he pierced my tongue behind the previous piercing.
My swelling wasn't bad . And when I say that I mean my swelling only lasted for about 3 days. And it didn't even seem that way. I was still able to eat anything I wanted and it just hurt a little when it would snag or hit the jewelry but I was able to deal with that. I was able to eat pizza and ice cream before I got home. I guess it was easy for me to deal with eating because I already went through that stage before when I first got my tongue pierced.
Some people look at piercings or body modifications as a fashion trend, art, etc. But getting a piercing is a really cool experience no matter what type of piercing it is. Because most of us fear something about getting a piercing. Whether it's the needle, or getting pierced , infections etc. But the fact that you were able to overcome those fears and look in the mirror to see that beautiful piece of art on your body, you see that you overcame those fears to enjoy something of your own.
So if you plan on getting your tongue pierced or anything pierced, you should most definitely go and get it done. Enjoy and appreciate your peircings. It's one of those things that not everybody can get and long for. So if your one of those lucky people that can get piercing then you should take advantage of that fact. Take care of them real well and talk to your peircings before you go to sleep and tell them how much you love and care for them. hah. anyways. I hope you all don't think I'm crazy but good luck and happy piercing!! :)
